Capcom had perhaps the greatest, most recognizable cast of main characters in history, and somehow managed to completely waste them. They made the franchise's games take place in the same real world year they are release, but only committed to something such as "slow aging" when it came to Jill, and very recently. Even then, they never made enough interesting spin-offs. Despite being a massive series, Resident Evil never got a proper anime (and I sure as hell don't want one now, with Netflix being a thing). It never got slice-of-life spinoffs like "daily life of the S.T.A.R.S if the incident never happened, or any other kind of interesting spinoffs for that matter. Those were always just "RE game but with boring characters and slightly different shooting zombies gameplay". The live action movies were horrid. The CGI movies were okay, but full of missed opportunities. They took twenty five years to make a piece of media in where the main characters all fight together, only for it to be a poorly planned and rushed snoozefest, only salvaged by the fact it has the "big four", or rather, "big five".Resident Evil should have been even bigger. Years and years of the franchise were thrown away because Capcom was never willing to just grab onto the low-hanging fruit and take the easy route. Resident Evil 6 should've featured Jill and Claire, and maybe even Rebecca. Spinoffs and other pieces of media should've been better explored. There should've been more focus on the characters. Everything people talk about nowadays is Leon's muscles and who his wife is, and you know why? Because people actually care about the characters, but Capcom doesn't.

I think the issue with Peak was that they released a few new biomes and it made Peak feel like a live service game, even though devs had stated that they were surprised by how positively it was received and the extra biomes were bonuses. Then, they announced that they were finalising it with the customizable thing, but I think there were already mods that did that, so it felt like the final thing added to Peak was mid and players were upset. I think that Aggro Crab and Landfall should have just dropped it and shut the fuck right up. Ignore the criticism, let people be upset, but stay fast to the message of "this is the last update" and if you desperately need to respond, just say that the team is hard at work at the next game. As a dev, getting snarky or just responding in kind to mean comments never gets any good press. Be positive or say nothing.

Most of the time whenever I see this site mentioned on /v/ or /vr/ anons mostly crap on the site calling it pointless cause some of the achievements are either grindy or force you to do unnatural/stupid things in a game that aren't really that hard or fun. Some challenges aren't even very creative like don't get hit by a boss or just achievements that show off your progress. Amazing and beautiful community though for adding this stuff to old games, but it's full of faggots and left wingers. I also miss playing games on normal original hardware. My friend who also had an account on there deleted his because he told me that a lot of the achievements felt grindy and not fun and that every time he wanted to play something retro he had to play it on an emulator or else he was missing out on points.
