The problem is that they explain the lore behind in DD2 while keeping it the same, the Brine is a way of control, having fishing villages means that people CAN go out to sea at least some distance before it kicks in and we could take DD1's vague explanation of it coming with the arrival of the Dragon AKA it's not up at all times; remember people came from other countries to Gran Soren and some of them are mention to be across the sea, we also SAIL to BBI so there's that. You're taking it too literal.
I'll freely admit, for all the game's faults, obviously missing features and content, rushed and butchered narrative, and overall underwhelming experience... I did really have a blast. Somehow the core gameplay and general mood of the game is still enough to sucker me in.

Honestly what can Nintendo do next? What's the next revolutionary gimmick they can pull off? They've done 3D, they've done second screen gaming, they've done touch screen gaming, they've done motion control gaming and they've done VR gaming.
