I don't like how game lighting looks anymore. Aiming closer and closer to realism unfortunately just ended up looking boring. IMO this aided atmospheric games immensely. My comments are less to do with polys, but I do generally consider the detail on models and assets as acceptable enough that it doesn't bother me so much.
