AoW into r2-r1 is cool but Blinkbolt is tricky to use because it has no iframes on start-up so you need to measure your distance carefully because you actually want to overshoot the opponent and get behind them in the midst of their attacking (you are totally invul in lightning form). It's like a more tactful Bloodhound Step with a little chip damage.

If there's one game expansion they actually worked from scratch to deliver in terms of assets and fights that's Shadow of the Erdtree. That's also why it has actually new locations and isn't a small theme park ride in small areas or even in the same zones as the base game with different lighting up to each boss.The quests, movesets, bosses and dungeons are the most developed and numerous. They created a progression system of powerups exactly because Shadow of the Erdtree doesn't follow the format of being a bunch of boss arenas in an endgame gauntlet masquerading as content. Research Hall and Fishing Hamlet are maybe the size of minor dungeons in SotE and never both vertical and large like legacy dungeons.

I say Consort Radahn is a fantastic boss, it was set up by many questlines and not just references like Ludwig and Orphan, and Miquella's theme of self-determination and defying Fate works well with Radahn's backstory of standing against the Stars to alter his family's FateI also say that Godfrey's words about crowns being warranted with Strength is a great way to hint that Malenia, Blade of Miquella, fought Radahn exactly to force him into servitude as Lord and Consort, a very japanese concept of vassalism where the Leader defeats characters that join him, a concept harder to grasp fpr westerners, and that Miyazaki is a genious for having foreshadowed with Malenia fighting as champion of Miquella that the player is the same in the festival later on, so that Radahn can accept Miquella as worthy GodI think Messmer is the most tragic character From ever wrote, and doesn't feel like a cheap attempt at tear-jerking, so it was very well made, moreso than Gwyn or Orphan of Kos, because I can actually symphatize with his human drama.Now you may disagree, you may think I'm wrong, but by your own standards those are just as valid as claims of SotE having superior boss quality compared to the Old Hunters as yours in favour of The Old Hunters bosses.
