I can not get real friends even though I try to open up first and show my channel my hobbies etc, then I just can not follow up communication even if I like the person because my mana is used up.... I guess the main problem for employers is that peple fear and start to hate what they dont understand or can`t conquer and in my case of high subculturarity people just may assume I am psycho, mentallyill or tr00ny etc idk many such cases even though I have always been a kid, never consumed alcohol or other drugs/ HRT/Psycho meds, never had sex etc, almost never use bad words etc, never even lived off the state through my whole life, in fact I have even paid Japanese pension and all taxes etc yayly

Kind of burned out on my main project and want to do a quick 2-3 month side project. I had an idea and want to get some feedback and thoughts.

Premise: You start as a ghoul at the bottom of a cave. As you explore the cave, you encounter rats, bats, spiders, snakes, bugs, etc., which you can fight and kill. When you leave the cave, you encounter burrows / bases of humans or magical monsters, who all want to kill you (and they kill each other). You have the choice of destroying monster bases to save humans or kill humans to let the monsters run rampant.
Type: ARPG-roguelike

Game mechanics/Hooks:
1. Killing a creature gives you xp and the option to consume it. Consuming a creature gives a small stat increase based on the creature you consumed (eg. rat will give you speed, but reduce strength). When you level up, you get the option of three skills / passives based on the monsters you killed during that level (eg. killing bats will give you wings to move faster or killing snakes will give you a poison attack).
2. Combat is a similar system to Oni (by Bungie Studios). WASD is cardinal movement, but W and Left click is a forward light attack, W and jump is a leaping forward jump, A and right click is a spinning kick etc. So combining various cardinal directions and attacks will lead to combos and new attacks. These are also modified by weapons, eg. W and light attack with a sword is a forward thrust, while W and light attack with a club is a forward swing.
3. Completing achievements unlocks new weapons, combos, monsters etc.
4. When the player dies, they find themselves back in the cave with their xp and skills reset, but all their achievements stay intact.

The overworld (outside the cave) is static terrain with procedurally generated villages, monsters, trees, etc. The burrows / bases are randomly generated each time the player dies. Each one is a mini dungeon (eg. like Valheim crypts / caves).

I played the Cosmic Call demo, and while the main gameplay loop feels good, there are some issues that were apparent pretty quickly.
>Guns dont automatically reload when they reach 0 ammo, so often times after i killed something and then repositioned and tried to shoot something else i just ended up reloading.

also I learned there was a wall jump mechanic because i got a buff that allowed me to do it 2 more times. otherwise I had no idea there was a wall jump, and i didnt even really jump anway.

Although I really do like the aesthetic of this game, i just think it could use a little work on visual clarity.

Still, how do you calculate the price and demand? I'd say this system should be pretty robust, as high demand in meth shouldn't immediately increase the price tenfold. the economic system is extremely barebones right now. There are a number of commodities as you can see. Each system either produces or consumes those at certain rates. Pricing is absolutely scuffed, almost entirely based on current inventory. This will need to be completely overhauled regardless of the direction. Need ideas for fast game projects I can make. Something more arcadey than a full fledged game.
So far, I've done:
-Twin stick shooter
-Moto racing (idk the true genre, it's the game type where you try to drive as long as possible while avoiding obstacles)
-Galaga/Space Invaders type of game
-2D Platform (just one level)

This is mostly for practice and finishing projects rather than something I'd like to release.
So yeah, any help or suggestions is appreciated, my goal is to complete 7-10 of these by the end of december. I've already finished the 4 I listed in around a month, so I think I can meet this goal

Progress - already used dialogue options are now greyed out to not overwhelm the player. I'm also considering automatically moving them to the bottom of the dialogue choices.

Well, the big bad is going to be a fat, geriatric Dracula who has recently been resurrected, as well as his castle. He is is sucking up the life energy of the land to regain his youth, and kills the two main character's (Ellie and Osh, Osh being the character you have seen) prized petunias in the process. They don't know who Dracula is, but they know that their new neighbor in the fancy castle killed their flowers, so they go off to give Dracula a piece of their mind. The game takes place in Dracula's magical castle, with the refrigerator leading to an Ice Mountain level, the bath leading to an ocean level, the green house leading to a Jungle level, etc. the enemies will all be based on horror films, but made cutesy, like a little skeleton being the goomba stand in, and a Frankenstein's Monster that works like Boom-Boom in Mario. The game will be like "What if Mario could run really fast and up on walls" as opposed to "what if Sonic could do acrobatics".

I'm probably being stupid here but how does this work?

Most multiplayer coop games I can think of are client-hosted, meaning one of the players is also the host. But these games also take place in one 'map', and you can't really change maps unless you're doing it together. Because it's just way simpler that way.

For the sake of example assume this is a game like skyrim where you press E on the door to a house and the main overworld unloads and then you load into the 'house' map. In multiplayer unless you force the whole party to go through a door together you have to keep every map that contains a player loaded at all times. If you can do that where do you physically put those loaded maps? Currently I'm thinking just put them all in one place but change the physics/collision and view layers of the map depending on which player is there, but that also seems stupid. I don't think I can have the host unload all maps that they are not in because the objects that the client is sending updates about need to exist in the host's instance or things won't synchronize.

Has anyone dealt with this shit before or is this why games have "YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PARTY TOGETHER BEFORE CONTINUING" popups so they can just move everyone to a new map at the same time?

I assume most just call it a hobby out of cope. They fear failure, so the easiest route is to claim you just did it for fun to ease the potential of failure and what other's might say.

For me it's a jobby though I'm sure this game is going to be a flop. Do have several other ideas for another game but I'd rather finish the current game. May be a jobby but I'd rather finish this game after all I did.

Quixel bridge is pretty fucking good, so I was able to import different stuff for models and textures and I like how it came out so far with the cell shading being done. I also added basic pawns with modeling them in blender. it's really basic to look like game pieces, but it works for now. Maybe later they will be replaced, not sure. So far it's going well.

That can still be accommodated within a single map. Just make it big enough to just break line of sight and you can make players feel split up over surprisingly small distances. Again, look at Left 4 Dead. That game was intentionally designed to try to keep players together but they still had to do things like add glowing outlines because it was still too easy for players to feel split up even within those relatively small maps, just from losing line of sight.

You can make money, but you have to go on certain sites to make any profit unless you self host it and it has to be something cool to run on chromebooks that US schools use. It's not as good as Steam but you can do it. Web game dev is usually faster paced since like mobile gaming, it's all about reachability. But more so since many mobile games got ported to be hosted as web games.
And there is nothing saying people won't rip the game and rehost it.
