It's reasonable to kill Shart as soon as you recognize Sharran iconography or rhetoric.So the act 1 party can be quite small if you are roleplaying a Tav who defends themselves from realistic threats. You're pretty much traveling with Wyll, Karl, and Gale every time. Later on you can pick up Jaheira, Halsin, and Minsc at least.But not very many people play realistically like this. Most players let meta-knowledge influence their decisions, so they add every person to the party despite red flags that would cause a person in real life to distance themselves, because we know as a videogame these people will have more story to tell, and there's no real threat to care about because it's just a videogame. So we embrace the Sharran and the vampire and wait for them to tell their stories.

Since most people don't like murdering random bystanders, lots of people would instead fight the person who is demanding you to kill the random bystanders, as they are seen as the aggressor.Most players simply pass the speech check, so I understand lots of people forget about this little aspect of her recruitment.

Why do you care about the tieflings? They want to kill someone that just helped you escape a nautiloid, and you too depending on your race. Even so, you can knock the tieflings unconscious if you fail to talk them down. They are always the aggressors in this situation. I agree that killing Astarion is the only intelligent choice if he tries to bite you, but he can never attempt to bite anyone at camp and tell you about his condition himself depending on how you play. Shadowheart will let on about her deepest fears and secrets and crutch on you for emotional support almost instantly, so even though she is Sharran, she isn’t your typical hateful zealot, and killing her would be small minded at best. But if you left Shadowheart to die and start the game as enemies, it might make sense to off her given the risk and having never seen anything positive about her personality or background, but it is ultimately your choice on whether she lives or dies

Even Bane and Loviatar and other evil cults occasionally do something good or have reasonable members, or have some sort of goal in mind.If you discover that someone is a Sharran, then you should immediately conceal that you know and discretely go to the town guard. If you don't have time for that, you should ambush them or stab them in the back before they discover you know, and you should attack with overwhelming brutality so there's no chance for them to defend themselves. Strike first before they know you know, and don't leave any room for error.Every time I talk about this there's always someone who doesn't like it, but it's just how the setting works regarding Shar. Or someone will say that Shart is an exception who is actually a good girl, but that's player knowledge, not character knowledge, and the character only knows what a Sharran is. No one would fault them for killing a Sharran, and in fact many nations would unironically give you a medal.
Like Lae’zel, Shadowheart is an individual you interact with directly and get to know, not some terrifying description from a textbook. You’re intended to compare that description, one that literally features quite prominently in multiple positions around the starting location, with Shadowheart, and then make your conclusion. I think if you’re honest with yourself, you recognize that she is misguided and has human wants and needs like anyone, no matter what she claims to be or be capable of, and that you, a trusted ally and friend, have an opportunity to dissuade her from the path of destruction. She supports you when it matters, even with a poor relationship, and supports positive quest outcomes, so any prior belief and fear about sociopathic death clerics can be dismissed. I can only understand killing her during her argument with Lae’zel, but even then Lae’zel is still the cause of the argument. The logic is on Shadowheart’s side, which is that because the party relies on the artifact for survival, surrendering it to the bloodthirsty githyanki is tantamount to suicide. This is logical, true, and nothing before or after the crèche suggests otherwise. Lae’zel demands a fight to the death, and with no prospects to win that fight, Shadowheart is backed into a corner and defends herself in the best way she knows how. But of course you can see that Lae’zel is misguided too, and so have a chance to save them both

Lae'zel's suspicions are even correct, Shart did murder a bunch of githyanki and stole the reilc. It's actually hilarious how this interaction is almost completely Shart being the bad guy, yet so many players say stuff like "well they're both bad....".
