Chances are you have something similar in your area if you just look for it. Yeah they often revolve around demo stuff and hardware fetishization but there's usually gaming related activity too even when the events are not specifically about games.

Surprisingly comfortable controller. Just looking at pictures, I didn't expect the thumbstick to be constructed how it is, but I like it. It might be a tad touchy but from a few initial tests it seems manageable if you don't fall into modern gaming habits and fling the stick fully in one direction. What games should I try to play with it?
Pro tip put some sewing machine oil or some grease under the stick to make it feel good as fuck. Any of the first person boomer shooters are amazing with it.

Shining Force III actually feels great with the stick, even though it doesn't technically matter since it's a turn based game. Panzer Dragoon Zwei plays best on it.
Oh yeah so with panzer dragoon 2, you gotta change some setting in the controls to avoid a bug. The game technically supports the flight stick and not the 3d pad, so by default, the game will random fire your missles and waste them. If you change one of the control settings, it's a perfect experience

In the first few minutes of Mario, you get acclimated to the controls, stomp on Goombas, grab a mushroom... first few minutes of Zelda you get a sword and start exploring some caves, kill some enemies and grab some ruppees...In the first few minutes of Kid Icarus you go into some empty rooms, shoot at some annoying flying enemies that are hard to hit with your dinky arrows, get gangraped by tiny grim reapers (who the hell decided this game needed stealth elements?) and get killed by the bottom of the screen.Maybe there's a cool game in there somewhere; I'll never know since I'll never bother playing past the second level.

Resident Evil 1 remake and The Twin Snakes really shouldn't be called "remakes". All of the negative ideas associated with that term (that are actually bad) are not present in them. They are alternate artistic treatments of the same premises and technical showcases. Not attempts to pave over history with something more accessible to retarded cretins. The Twin Snakes has cutscenes directed by Ryuhei Kitamura, with input from Hideo Kojima (who told him to make them more his own rather than try to recreate the original game).Technology was not frozen at this time. You could do radically different things after a few years passed. There was great novel value in making the same scene with new tech. They were not breaking existing works into the monogame frame. Anybody who hates these particular remakes I have to take for a hysteric who can't appraise the issue clearly.
