Is Boulder Dash the first collect-a-thon?
>>12256512your mother collects sexual transmitted diseases>>12256521a game where player collects things in order to fulfill a goal or to get points and is the entire purpose of the game's existence>>12256531>dangerously low iq takeclassic /vr/
>>12256253The thinking man's collect-a-thon.
>in the game he's an ant>on the loading screen hes a mandid the programmer and the graphic artist not speak to each other on this one?
>>12257102There is one release of the first game which depicts him as an ant on the cover, but on all the cover arts of the first and later games they made him look like a human. Rockford will always be an ant in my headcanon.
one of the few occasions where the Atari 8-bit version was superior to the Commodre 64 version. its so polished.and yeah, who is this dude? not the Ant in the game
This was a war crime.
>>12256447That they come out of eggs was the retcon. In gen one you would just assume pokemon were born. Kangaskhan kind of reinforced that idea.

I like shadows like this

These games killed Pokemania and solidified the franchise as not for masculine children. If you were a male with a reasonable level of coolness you just went right back to X-Men since the 00s movies were out
>>12257489you're bad at janny backseating
>>12257489You have a point
>>12256735That's not gen 3
So this guy went from spamming mortal kombat threads to spamming pokemon threads now huh.
>>12256903Yeah what the fuck does that even mean lol. “the dream” … of what?
Delete all your old save files now and start from scratch. You'll thank me later.
>>12257568Absolutely not.
do you feel guilty when you emulate
>Have a CRT next to me>Too lazy to bring the console out of the box and set it all up (and later put it all away)>Don't want to play on an emulator because I want to enjoy playing on a CRT>End up not playing anything
>>12253009>video game collections aren't video games>screenshots of shaders and plugin settings are video games
>>12257550Games being collected are not games being played. At least emulator screenshots are.
>>12257465Connect emulator to CRT?
>>12257332>>12257439>really hit a nerve
how do you find other fellow retro games fans? do you have a retro community in your area?i had a bunch of good CRT monitors but ended up selling them to scalpers because all my social circle saw them as useless junk and convinced me to threw them away, i had nobody to reinforce me in my hobby and the reasons i had them to begin with

Why did every Capcom game between 1996 and 2000 have the same jazz fusion soundtrack?
it's so fucking soulless
Jazz fusion is not the same as jazzy dnb
>>1225576119xx and Pocket Fighter should be there too. 19xx in particular sounds way too much like SFA2.
That type of sound was all the rage in Japan at the time, like Shibuya-kei.

>>12256469did those twitter guys ever post an update on their real translation or did they just quit because of the MTL guy
>>12257145It would be nice if they could at least confirm the translation is still in development or not
game's kinda ass but i like the mutants' original designs
>>12257145>>12257234They are fags who weren't going to finish shit anyway. One year had passed since they teased "near completion!! get hype!!" when someone else posted something actually playable. And thank fuck for that.If they, against all odds and evidence, were going to actually release something, but decided against it because someone else used a machine translation? Even bigger faggots. If they had something better, it would of course replace the machine translation as the preferred patch. It had no impact on their work. The truth is they had nothing, they're useless, and their contribution of literally-nothing is worth 0% of what someone else whipped up on a whim.
Anybody here remember Gorky 17 (Odium in North America)? It was a Polish made, horror, tactical game from 1999. It follows a group of NATO operatives, infiltrating a Polish town overrun with monsters and mutants. It switches from point and click exploration and item management to turn based combat when encountering enemies. People describe it as a marriage between Resident Evil (during exploration, puzzles and inventory management) and XCOM (during combat encounters). It has a leveling and RPG system. It looks like a PS1 game, using 3D characters and objects, superimposed over detailed 2D enviroments and backgrounds (a la early RE games). The music, enviroments, characters and monster designes vary from solid to excellent.
More like Corky 17
>>12255119>It got a re-release on GOG recently.I bought it from GOG in 2013.
Okay so I just pirated it. Game seems cool enough but I'm almost out of healing items.Am I supposed to spend the whole game on the brink of death?
>>12257481in the early game you will often be short of ammo and healing stuff if you're too wasteful. it gets better later but dont expect an easy peasy game.
>>12257491The battles aren't difficult, but I use a lot of melee so I'm bound to get hit a lot.I think I'll uninstall, it's not fun despite being interesting.
>Remember...No Russian...
>>12250071>Russia is commiting war crimesX to doubt, but to answer your denial Russia did attempt to join NATO in the 00's as an equal partner to the US. GW Bush was supposedly open to the idea initially but later declined. It's a quite revealing story with implications of sorts.
>>12228624It did both, stay mad.

Garfield: Caught in the Act - The Lost Levels is finally getting released
>>12257273Watch the video, he explains it. Ocean did the original proto based on their SNES version then for some reason they dropped it entirely and Foley Hi Tech did the whole thing over from scratch.
>>12257273Parallax from the original proto makes my head spin. I bet they had beta tester kids in coma like with that Pokemon thing.
>>12247509>they hated Jesus because he told them the truth
>>12257357Doesn't really mean shit if the BS community is absolute dogshit. Social media in general sucks.
>>12257273The first version has that janky Amiga demoscene style parallax, with one foreground, one background, and a raster line gradient behind everything using the back screen color.
Since you are done with Gradius and Parodius, now play Salamander.
>>12255895>>12255895Mushi is great, even the arrange and 1.5versions are so awesome.I would also get Gradius Origins and Ray'z Chronology.BLue Rev isn't retro, (you should've got Demon Blade Reboot instead desu)
>>12256492That game doesn't have cute girls though.
>>12256614Gradius with cute girls literally exists. It's official too.Although it bothers me how the hardest part about Otomedius is just finding a way to play it at all.
Does Mamorukun have any romance/hints of romance? Even blushing? Your answer will determine if I buy the game.
>>12257389Even if it did would you really want to use a shota to self insert?Anyway I just boughted it. That sequel can't come soon enough.
