I was born Christian but am finding it extremely difficult to maintain my belief. Everytime I overcome a hurdle a new barrier to belief comes along, whether it be textual criticism of the Bible, gnosticism making more sense, evidences for evolution, the seeming randomness of people's outcomes, etc. I really want to believe but I can't. But I'm also not a complete materialist, I have had paranormal experiences, and I believe there is things beyond the physical, but I'm not sure what. I am open to other religions, I lived near a Sikh community for years and they generally seemed like better people than many Christians. What do you guys believe and why? Then you die and that's it. If you have a real body outside the illusion, then remaining here may not be an option.
