Since Austria and Switzerland are also german speaking we have a big demand for dubbing. There are roughly 2000 voiceactors and 2 big citys where all the studios are. 20% gets dubbed in Munich, about 75% in Berlin andd the rest is done in smaller studios, scattered through Germany. Smaller animes like "onimai" can get dubbed relatively cheap in smaller studios. "onimai" got done in "Tonwerk" in Munich. The Cut and the Soundguy get paid next to nothing, they also do the backround voices, so you don't have to pay actual voiceactors. The actual roles get paid 53€ for showing up, and then 3,50€ per take. The mainroles with the bigger voiceactors get paid a bit more. "Tonwerk" actually shut down a few months ago, because they couldn't pay their voiceactors anymore. In the last 10 years or so, most smaller studios either shut down, or got swallowed up by the FFS. Some really dark times ahead...

This isn't directly answering your question because I wanted to post this in the S3 thread from like a week ago but my IP was rangebanned or something for a few days, but:I don't really have any issues with the reboot itself aside from the changes/censorship from the manga. But it's kind of funny/annoying how, when people criticized it in the past for Ryoga's weird design compared to the manga (not only does he look less cute but had black eyes in this anime when in the manga he's clearly drawn in a way that indicates a lighter eye color), people were throwing out crazy excuses like "w-well in Japan most people have black/brown eyes, so giving Ryoga solid black eyes with no iris is actually more realistic than what (((the 1989 anime))) did, and also more accurate than Rumiko's original artwork itself"But now that the new season is giving him green eyes, which he has actually had in manga art (the exact color probably varies depending on the specific image), everyone's praising it for doing so, so clearly they were just coping about his early-season design being awesome before. Stuff like that sometimes makes it feel like certain Ranma fans are just determined to praise literally everything about the new anime even at the times when it does stuff that actually deserves criticism/differs from the mangaTL;DR the fans are annoying even if the show itself is fine overallalso i do fucking hate the written sound effects and will probably never get over them
