>>151960248I mean you could but the gymnastics needed to keep the equivalent of Lucyspace working for Luke would crash Taeshi mentally, he would have to be, god forgive me, an actual nuanced character with a good side to him that's shown through the comic
>>151961763His mental issues would have to be stated up front in and out of universe. Taeshi wouldn't be able to dance around it if he's still doing the tsundere hitting gimmick. Even then, she'd have to reduce it to verbal abuse and save the physical stuff for really low moments.
>>151961763kek
>>151961838>His mental issues would have to be stated up front in and out of universe. If you reduce the abuse down and have the mental illness outloud then it aint truly a lucy r63. It is at best a tempt to take culpability from someone who inflicts abuse on a girl he likes for literally zero reason. Even Lucy didn't have a good reason since her shit went beyond even school yard bully cause you like a guy. There isn't a way to really good way to write luke as sympathic once the tsundere shit is revealed to just be abuse.

>>151962233I swear, if the Canadian government invested more in this type of series instead of flash boogerfart shit, they could've competed with anime.
>>151962189The movie was shit, but that was a cool moment.
>>151962189Honestly despite fucking the narrative up, the alien stuff is genuinely super well executed and where the cinematography really shines. Though I've got a soft spot for this film even if it's flaws are all correct.
>>151963715This. I don't even think Buck is a shit father.
Knull is honestly not a bad enough idea. At least worse than any other generic>personification of cosmic elementtype of "character". The problem for me is that Cates just couldn't write a Nihilistic Space Elric, and just made a boring edgy schmuck. Space Vampire with Black Goo Monster Devils in his command is fine. It's just that for it to work the character of Venom needs to not be tied to some random retard like Brock, but to something akin to the FF. Knull as a concept/character isn't that bad, and he does look cool in a cliche edgy way. He just needed a better execution. He's far better than the Batman Who Keks in any case.
>>151961794>"Hahaha yes, I am Knull, God of the Symbiotes and Onyx King of the Eighth Cosmos. I have finally arrived to kill your pathetic world and-">"Wait is that...an X-Man!? AIIIEEE STOP LOOKING INTO MY MIND NOOOOOOO!"
>>151962361>Also the "Super ancient super alien being but they look like a Human and do Human things and wear Human clothes and have Human Mythology Monsters serving them" shit was just low effort.Don't forget that he just so happens to bear the same symbol as Spider-Man's. They weren't even fucking trying. To be fair though, symbiote lore had been turned to shit even before with the Klyntar nonsense in Space Knight. It simply kept... getting worse.
>>151961794I wouldn't mind him if he wasn't the 8 millionth giga retcon to symbiote lore
Nothing about the symbiote beyond the original arc and Eddie getting it ever worked. I'd rather see it all retconned at this point.
>>151961794>Knull is honestly not a bad enough ideaDunno, naming the primordial evil dark god "Fuck" is pretty darn up there in terms of hilarious mistakes

People keep going back to the 80s and 90s because they were the last optimistic decades in recent memory. And everything afterwards has been nothing but economic and cultural stagnation. Plus the aesthetics just can't be topped.

>>151959033By all rights Extremely Goofy Movie was a fluke but it actually ended up being great, and it's hands down the best Disney "cheapquel" to the point where the production values are almost as high as the originals (the biggest notable difference being that the first movie was a musical with some absolute bangers, and the sequel has no musical numbers). And by sheer luck, Disney mastered it in high definition because the first HDTVs were appearing in homes and they wanted to both future-proof it and release it on DVD, so the image quality is far ahead of the other Disney DTV movies. They could have released it in theaters although I think they didn't want to spend that kind of money on distribution.

Some very obscure characters happen to have very interesting designs.
I was 12 when this first started airing. I didn't grow out of PBS until I was 14 and didn't grow out of cartoons in general until I was 19

Wouldn't outlawing superheros immediately result in supervillains running rampant with no one to stop them
>>151962114There are no *super*villains in this world, only regular guys with gadgets at most. All the real supers happen to be good guys.
>>151963627The supers that go evil are just memory holed by the government.
Gamma jack killed most villans
>>151963627I always assumed that the NSA scouted supers to make sure they didn't become villains. Give them fame, luxuries, and a sense purpose to placate them and if they ever decide to defect you already have a small militia of other supers to keep them inline.
>>151962114Notice how the movie never explicitly uses the term "superhero" or "supervillain." The NSA was never about preventing heroes and villains from running amok, they were about tard-wrangling, protecting, and controlling a dangerous minority. They controlled the narrative because they owned supers. That's what Incredibles 2 was trying to get at but that movie was too rushed to come to that conclusion.
