does anyone here know much about monitors? bought a 2.0 hdmi only monitor (asus vg279qm) for my new ps5 but now I'm reading that it won't run 120 fps on the playstation, I've researched a bit and it seems asus official account in australia has said it will run 1080p 120 fps on ps5 but theres user accounts that say it just goes to 60 fps and under asus official 1080p 120hz supported monitors its not there... There's not much information online and I phoned asus support and the indian didn't even know. I tried to cancel it immediately on amazon after I realised but they wouldn't let me. Should I bother even accepting the package or just have them return it? Also was thinking regardless of if I can get a refund or not I would like to try 1440p or 4k resolution. I'm just really retarded at choosing which ones to get, I feel like I dropped the ball with this asus one. Can anyone recommend a decent monitor to go with a Ps5 for 200-250 euro?
>>107600731You only need HDMI 2.1 for 4K 120 Hz; that monitor is just 1080p so it will be fine.
>>107600731>2.0 hdmiIt can carry 120hertz to 1080p or 4k at 60
>>107600851>>107600868ty guys, i was wondering why there were so many user reports that they only get 60hz on ps5... then chatgpt waffled to me that it wont work. appreciate it, I trust you guys more than any users online
>>107600884You still need a 2.0 cable. I had old long HDMI that I used with PS4. On PS5 it couldn't do 4k.

>>107600482Why are mustard and other spices associated with the fires of hell? Why does that unwholesome connotation exist? It must be a widespread one, because the term "devilled" was taken up without question by the community at large, despite being quite a strange comparison to make. Did you know that places named after the Devil are generally notorious for deaths and disappearances? These names aren't bestowed lightly, when something is named for the Devil it's because it has a terrible reputation. Spicy food has been enjoyed since time immemorial across the globe, the 18th century British cooks weren't the first to spice up leftovers. What else was going on in the British Empire at the time? Look deeper into things, and remember that nothing is an accident.

>>107596693>who really gives a shit about how long it takes?I need my coffee NOW
>>107600173>its not necessarily much more expensive than the trench systemI have no idea how you can claim this. I can rent an excavator and put in the trench for under a thousand dollars. Figure another 2k for the tubing parts and cheap backfill just to be generous and you're still talking a solid order of magnitude cheaper.I can't do that in a city because of buried utilities, but in my own yard in semi rural nowhere? It's a few bucks for the permits and I need to have the inspector swing by at some point, but other than that and throwing a bag of grass seed over the dirt, that's the end of it.>>107600268Europe is very temperate compared to the Northern US. The majority of the central US has astronomic temperature swings compared to mainland Europe. You don't get sustained -40 in France or Germany the way you do in Montana, Minnesota and so on when a Canadian cold front moves in. If trenching works there, it'll work in Europe.>i dont still quite understand why not do the well instead it still seems like the obvious choice to me wherever you areBecause it's a full order of magnitude more expensive than trenching, and that already adds a substantial amount compared to air source heat pumps. There's zero advantage to the well over trenching correctly.
>>107600177>>107600281The vacuum power stuff actually has a semi sane reason behind it. Power usage was becoming a marketing term that had zero correlation with sucking power. It was cheaper to make a shitty motor that ran inefficiently and made a shitload of noise than to make something that actually sucked properly, and you could market it as better because it used so much power it must suck hard. I remember reading about some independent testing that found a few of them that were upwards of 94 db sustained. That's well into the permanent hearing damage if you aren't wearing hearing protection territory.>i went immediately and bought the most powerful standard one i could find at 2800WAnd this is exactly why that ban was put in place. a 2800 watt vacuum should damn near be able to peel the varnish off your floor. I'd put money, not a lot, but a reasonable wager, that you bought an overpriced noise maker that would get comfortably crushed by a mielee or something like it in a real world practical test while using less than half the power.
>>107600794>I have no idea how you can claim thisI was just going by your 20k estimate but now i realize its less the materials and more the price of the work, yeah and by doing it urself its not nearly as muchYou cant really drill the well yourself so yeah that diy option doesnt existI was comparing to having to having the trench work contracted out versus the well being made which reduces the difference
>>107600816It is actually a Miele that I bought and yeah you dont normally run it full speed because it will basically suck itself stuck to the floor, but the max power option is still useful for things like getting heavy tiny stuff like sand out from inside heavy carpetsOf course bad products always exist but as always if you buy premium German you know its good and the power is the actual power and not some fake bullshitI have fucking had it with shit being made low powered things like electric motors are already almost max efficient so making them low powered just makes them worseIm glad that I have lot of old electric tools because the new ones fucking suck for example i have this bosch hand circular saw with 3800W power and it works fantastically but the ones you can buy today even labeled supposedly "professional" are fucking 1400W less than half power and the RPM slows down much more when you cut and it accelerates much slower too retarded fucking bullshit we were promised a future where everything just keeps improving getting better but no everything gets fucking worse its so INFURIATING

>>107600721You have never used Houdini if you think Blender has any chance of supplanting Houdini.
>>107598967> UE devs confirmed to be the most happiestYeah, unlike the end users who have to play UE slop
>>107600548>There is no reason to not like Blender, it's completely free It still has an awful UX and UX, there is a lot of unintuitive bullshit and a ton of obscure short cuts to memorize. Also it's inefficient in a production setting. I recently rendered 15k sprites for 2.5D game doing it in 3D max was easy and having the automation of having multiple files render properly without scripting is very nice. Doing the same in blender would have taken me much longer and it would have been a much more tedious experience. Blender is great if you're poor but as long as I have access to a budget I will always choose 3DS Max over blender. 3D Max has an ugly interface but it just makes sense. inb4 baby ducks syndrome, I've used Maya, Houdini, C4D, XSI and others but only blender feel frustrating to use, like gimp but for 3D>Maya/3dsmax those are the old industry standard they were never ever goodYet 1000's of games and movies were made with them

hello friends, new to /dmp/ but also new to music creation/production in general. I'm working on a project for this silly video for my nephew and I do some shitty rap lyrics on top of it, but its to the beat of Aqua Teen Hunger Force intro so I want to make my voice sound kind of like the actual theme with the effects.I wanted to ask if someone can tell me how to add the tech filter (?) or whatever it is towards the beginning of the song where it goes "you wanna trip, I'll bring it to yaaaaaa" right before the Frylock part, and also how to make it kind of go higher pitch in the middle of a word without having to rerecord that part. I got all the lyrics put together so adding filters would be the finishing touch. I know I'm probably fucking this all the way up, but I'm doing all of this in VSDC video editing program so if I need a different software I'll do what I need to.
