>>107604315I completely forgot about making this post, love the fact I seem to have stirred up a shitstorm. I think the reason it's controversial is because a lot of Anons gain pleasure from having many moving parts with every use case catered for. Glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys the idea of putting arbitrary hard limits on things and shrinking them instead of expanding them.>>107615522I gain mental clarity by needing to focus on fewer things at once. One device, one firewall, no NAT, etc. As well as an autistic satisfaction from building things from the ground up and ending up with a setup that is unorthodox, but entirely my own. For example, a lot of anons mentioned power consumption being a motivating factor - I don't have or need hardware powerful enough for that to be an issue to me in the first place, so I can afford to think outside the dogma of needing an extra low power router/server to compensate for the beefy PC.>>107606972If I can access files hosted on it from a remote location, then I do think it qualifies as a "server". I'm thinking of limiting as many services as is feasible to Wireguard (I'm also looking into things like QUIC). Ideally, it would be the only device on the network, in which case no routing would be needed, but it could also provide routing for another device that might need an Internet connetion. Yes, I am aware of the limitations of this.>>107632139The point was to illustrate a PC being directly connected to the modem, either omitting the router or the PC itself being a router of some kind. Meanwhile, you're sperging over the source image being from the mid 2000s.

Dr. Freeman. You really shouldn't be using Windows 7. At the moment of broadcast, as I connect, this drive will be bathed in deadly viruses that have yet to be named by human science. Perhaps when I have the leisure to do the work myself, I'll name one after you. That way you won't be completely outdated. When the partition is setup, I will be far away from here. In another operating system, as a matter of fact. You, on the other hand, will be reformatted in every way it is possible to be formatted-and even in some which are essentially impossible.I don't know what you can possibly hope to achieve, apart from your own obsolescence.

>>107632873>I've always wanted to try audezes stuff and i finally found a pair of lcd 3's for $550 usd near me that I might buy soon, did you ever find the weight to be an issue?Yes, they're all very heavy. The reason you see a lot of used LCDs on the market is because when you audition them you don't feel the weight, it only gets to you after a few hours. But you do get used to it after some time. Back when I got my first LCD-2s, I couldn't stand to wear them for more than a few hours at a time. After a month I got used to it and the weight doesn't bother me anymore. And for what it's worth, I had the chance to audition LCD-3 as well and they didn't seem to annoy me with the upper treble as much as LCD-X did, I would have bought them if not for the price that was too high for my budget. But the pre 2017 LCD-3 models have different tuning so make sure to check its manufacturing year. The post 2021 editions have way less unit to unit variation for example. And I wouldn't use anything Audeze without EQ since the treble on all of them is weird. With EQ their stuff is great, bass response is amazing because of how they're built. Open back but the front is closed, this makes it seem like there's a subwoofer right next to your ear. Also, the pads kind of "suck" to your head, if you put them on too fast you can feel air being pumped into your ear canal, kind of. It's a very weird sensation.

>>107633045>they are pic related model but i'll have to look into exact production on sn i guessSo it's one of the older models before they changed the headband. If you have a chance to actually touch them then as long as there are fazors(they protrude slightly from inside the cups, look like picrel but you won't see them) then it's the model with the newer drivers. The tuning doesn't really matter when you EQ but their are very few measurements of the pre fazor versions and the tuning from unit to unit varies between 3-6dB at times which is why I'm saying this.>wicked, gonna have to test these outTheir stuff basically doesn't distort up to 120+dB so you can apply a huge bass shelf and then listen to bass heavy tracks and feel your eardrums vibrate, amazing experience. Main reason why I always liked their stuff.>I think i remember a similiar thing when i had the ether cx's, kinda miss those thingsThe pads are actually kind of similar to those so yeah, it's kind of like with them.>Thanks though, it's hard to research into some of the over $1k stuff without seeing the schizos on some of the shittier forumsIt truly is awful how many >remember to use this 1k cable with this 2k amp otherwise they'll sound like shitschizos there are on headfi etc.
