is cockli down again? the website works but i'm not getting any emails
is it dangerous to update your bios? i have a prebuilt with an intel i9 that has stability issues and i hope the bios update fixes it. they emailed me their custom bios but i am scared of bricking my computer
>>107635958If it's still supported worst case you have to send the board back to them for warranty repair. Just don't cut power to it while it's updating and you shouldn't have problems.
>>107635958It's possible, not likely but possible. Who is "they" and how is their bios "custom"? The guys who prebuilt the PC? I would be wary if so, you should really go directly to the manufacturer for updates. If you use the manufacturer's own update file and aren't a complete and total retard, it's pretty unlikely that anything will go wrong. What makes it dangerous is that "unlikely" is not "impossible" and if something does go wrong it results in a brick. If you have stability issues and need to flash an update to try to resolve them, ideally this would be covered under warranty somehow, as in if you brick it you should be able to just RMA the board. Check their warranty terms and also some reviews online if you can find any to make sure they're not complete asshats because if they claim you bricked your own mobo there's not much you can do to prove that you did everything correctly and they're the ones who bricked it, so you kinda have to take them on their reputation.

Thoughts on parinfer vs paredit?
>>107635740parinfer is slow and written in jsworst part the emacs port of it is written in rustalso requires ffi library, which is extremely retardedstick to paredit, it's written in elisp
>>107635577no, only use static languages like Rust in order to attain the best possible performance in all circumstances. make sure to keep up on the latest data structure literature for optimization in all contexts. rebuild all of Clojure's abstractions (associations, sets) using Rust's trait system, and fork any data structure libs (due to the orphan rule) in order to make them use your newly-defined abstractions.make sure you use async in order to optimize all of your concurrent code. make sure you avoid the use of boxed futures in order to optimize your memory access patterns.make sure you use minimal allocations by packing multiple dynamically-sized, non-growing arrays into a single allocation via a procedural macro that generates an implementation based on how many arrays you need (cannot afford an additional allocation for tracking the number of arrays, just procedurally put that information into a struct at compile time).don't even THINK about the potential benefits of reflection (Kryo lib) or eval at runtime.don't think about the potential benefits of having stack traces that can be introspected in order to examine exactly the path of functions that resulted in an error. if you want that information, just manually assemble the error enums that you need.none of that matters. only performance matters.say it with me.ONLYPERFORMANCEMATTERS
>>107635833I use parinfer-rust with Neovim, works great
>>107635740I can't stand writing lisp without parinfer. I use some paredit commands in addition to parinfer.
