By missing the point entirely, you mean directly addressing OPs retardation with logic, reason, and fact?

I phear a more salient point would be your lack of demonstration how competitors have resolved this precise problem.

It doesn't look too stable to me, I'll do you the kindness of finding somewhere firmer to plant your feet if you would like?

>(they solely believe that you will get magic internet aids after connecting old windows to the internet)
It's not magic, and the real world size and location of botnets based on winXP is well documented. The large stack of exploits are actively engaged autonomously in bulk. And it is actively sought for exploit.
Botnets made of win10 are on teh rise, too.

>installers are typically distributed directly by the software producer.
Yes, and the software producer could modify the files FOR YOU without modifying them for anyone else or leaving any trace. With a package manager like Arch's, the new files are available for everyone to see, and the developer has no control over your mirrors to coordinate targeted distribution.

I don't want to use Debian, shit installer and old packages, all CLI system management

I don't want to use arch, shit CLI installer, breakages and unstable

I don't want to use fedora, broken and needs codecs retardation out of the box is broken

I don't want to use opensuse, killing off yast for no reason something that works for 20+ years now fragmenting

I don't want to use mint, cinnamon sucks, ugly blue grey guhnome theming, nemo is slower than windows 10 FM, no KDE plasma and the devs are mentally I'll and don't care about their spins

I don't want to use arch derivatives, mentally ill shit like cachyOS or endeavour OS. Idiotic forks with no future

I don't want to use kubuntu or ubuntu. Broken snaps and apt package manager integrated with snaps by default.

So that's it huh, desktop Linux is dead

Just install Gentoo, vastly more stable than Arch Linux, updates faster than OpenSUSE (yes zypper is that slow), not retarded like Fedora and none of that Ubuntu snap bullshit.

It's in the sticky for a reason, just embrace it, Gentoo was always the answer at the end of this path anon.

What if you use Zig for the low level metal stuff and Rust for what’s above that?
>>
>>107695009
Sounds reasonable to me. The benefits from Rust's complexity are questionable in embedded systems that allocate all memory statically or in the initialization routine, so Zig seems like a better fit there. On the other hand, memory in personal computers is so abundant that you can just clone() your way out of many borrow checking problems.

Half-venting, half-serious inquiry: why the fuck is Google shadowbanning (shown to only me while logged in, not shown to anyone else or to me while logged out) the following comments. Separate comments on separate lines, all shadowbanned:
>About hardware: even back in 2016 I needed 128Gb of RAM to provide a service for my clients on a level that they expected, in 2025 that's a Threadripper with 8x32 and 24Gb of VRAM at minimum.

>My company will outperform anyone who has inferior software, hardware, and less efficient pipelines. Outperform on money and on time. Clients expect top end results with a quick turnaround.

>Another example, I have 3 large screens because over a year, it's far cheaper for me to buy 2 extra monitors, than to constantly waste time alt+tabbing to view references or communicate, etc.

>But nobody would ever need 3 screens because you can do everything with 1 screen also, right? That's the difference between tinkerers and professionals: time = money.

(arguing with a faggot saying my shitty thinkpad and opensource toys can do *everything*)

Is Google fucking retarded? I haven't been able to converse with anyone for the better part of the last 5 years. The same bullshit, have a casual conversation going (or try to have), then check it while logged out and see that 70% of what I've posted has never appeared publicly. Sometimes the most mundane shit gets autodeleted like: "I wish you happy holidays, mate". At one point I tried to help some guy out by typing only "You can find it by googling *some mundane shit about computing*" aaaand shadowbanned. I may use my phone and an alt account, still the same shit. What in the ungodly fuck is going on? Not a single swearword. Not a single no-no topic. And then there's endless fucking botposts with the same exact spamcontent on every fucking major fagtuber 15 seconds after publishing a video. Oh then they are powerless, nothing they can do. Fuck them with a rusty iron spike. What the fuck is their problem?

You may want to run that. If there's corrupt system files then you can fix them just by re-installing the package.
>>

Your problem is the filesystem not the system files. Unix culture doesn't enable pet filesystems. Back it up, fix the root cause, reformat, restore.

Where do you think the system files are stored, but yes, you're correct, a system file shouldn't just corrupt itself.

Needing some advice on music players for Linux. Running Antergos. Installed a few, and so far the only viable option is Audacious, but it is missing some creature comforts that I got with foobar. Most importantly, I want one that will support some sort of convolver, since I have impulse waveforms for all of my cans. I am using a Schiit stack to play everything. Anyone have any recommended players?

Here’s a direct quote from your article
> The availability of parts from older ASML machines on secondary markets has allowed China to build a domestic prototype, with the government setting a goal of producing working chips on the prototype by 2028, according to the two people.
So these chinks cant really produce the lenses and has to scavenge it just to produce a working prototype. China is definitely 10 years behind and they’re definitely not catching up soon.

Yurope is literally superior to muttistan in some respects if that's what you're trying to imply. Muh freedom and already being wealthy is literally the only reason to live in Muttistan. Otherwise you're better off being in Yurope.

Why aren't you downloading all the software/tools for anything you could ever want to do offline on your OS since 2010?

Download sites for obscure tools and utilities go down every year, accelerated since the last 5. Software support cycles are the fire in which we burn.

this is fucking hilarious. doesn't matter if apex, valorant, rust, cs2 faceit or any other league. any FPS is currently unplayable because kids run color/ML aimbots on their second pc and forward inputs to their gayming pc with this 40$ passthrough device. and all the jeet AC devs are too stupid to write an aimbot detection algo that doesn't result in 6 million false positive bans. how thick are you bro? MAKCU doesnt emulate your mouse, it's a 1:1 passthrough and doesnt require any drivers on the main pc.
