Yes. I run cachyos for my desktop and mint for my laptop. I don't like the package manager or the two GUI wrappers for it on cachyos. Mint just works

Ubuntu is one of the best distros even after Canonical's bullshit. Mint just removes said bullshit.
>>Lacking Wayland support
Wayland is incomplete technology. Is don't know why distros are dropping x11 without even having a completely functioning display server.

I love when faggots argue just to be contrarians. Mint is exactly the same kernel as Ubuntu LTS, which is far from being a hindrance.

all of these are the main reasons i choose this distro. i can write a long ass essay on why you are wrong, but i know your kind will just shill CashyOS or Arch and I hope you fuck off and get there.

I think a list like this is alright, of course people are going to make this into a completely black & white issue and some are going to boycott everything on that list.
For me it's more like it's nice to be aware of how the software I use is developed, for example I'm seriously considering switching to drew's pre-AI contribution vim fork simply because I don't really care about the new features and I'm only expecting more bugs and security issues in the main version from here on out

why do they even care? they'll have killed themselves long before ai kills them

Can someone identify what sort of software setup this guy is using to manage to get this volume at this quality this fast

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzJfXpOnKoU

It's 90 minutes worth of pretty good and consistent looking frames every 1-2 days, something that could do batch generation? Or even just the model he's using to get this look, is it showing any telltale signs of prompts, styles etc, I'm assuming he's genning them locally

looks like big lab imagen to me, gpt or nano banana. you could probably do it with a local model though, like z-image-turbo. chatgpt didn't want to copy the image exactly, but it's pretty similar. could easily make the lines bolder etc. this one took me 42s to gen, so you could spit out stills pretty fast. comfy is pretty easy to script

cinematic anime illustration, young medieval merchant boy, light brown tousled hair, shoulder length, soft smile, looking over shoulder, three quarter profile, wearing dark green tunic and brown leather vest, soft fabric folds, clean anime character design,

sunlit stone courtyard, medieval european architecture, stone arches and columns, ivy covered walls, stone staircase, potted plants, lush greenery, tree casting dappled sunlight, warm afternoon lighting,

high quality anime film still, studio ghibli inspired, cinematic composition, shallow depth of field, soft atmospheric lighting, global illumination, gentle bloom, natural color palette,

detailed background, soft painterly rendering, anime movie frame, professional animation still, smooth linework, subtle shading, calm peaceful atmosphere,

medium shot, character centered, looking back at viewer, cinematic framing

I use a $25 single tower, single fan, with 4 heat pipes on my 265k and it’s fine under sustained max loads around 80 degrees at ~190 watts. SSE stress tests can bump it up to 85 but come on. Idles at 35, full GPU load games it gets up to 65.

S26 ultra is a better phone than the s25 ultra
The only (slight) issue with the s26u is that the screen has slightly worse viewing angles, slightly more text fringing and causes migraines for a small percentage of people with sensitive eyes

I need to transfer a CPU to a different motherboard, is this a dangerous exercise?

Gawd, by today's standards this kind of looks like an AI image. The only saving grace is I know it comes from the Windows 7 era...

At this point it makes more sense for government agencies to ditch Microslop's shit. Europeans are doing it, and it might work out well for them.
Americans can just switch to Apple since they're corporate slaves, and get better quality. Not like their government is cost concious anyways.

No, people just prefer it over the alternative, which usually is denoised to hell garbage with all detail obliterated. Also, film grain was harder to notice in the past, since display resolution was much lower (effectively, a low-pass filter).
>>
>>108503655
>The original resolution was 320x224 I think.
Well not shit then, you can't make something produced at 320x224 look good on any 1080p or 4K screen. Garbage in, garbage out.
>>
>>108503655
>The original resolution was 320x224 I think.
There is literally zero reason to ever upscale pre-7th gen console videos past 480p.
>but muh hd badge muh zoomers won't watch low res videos
They can die.
>>
>>108508590
for me it's not so much i 'like grain', rather that it's a sign of a good encode, as it's the first thing to get destroyed by compression. It also hides other artifacts like blurriness and banding. ideally video is better without it, real life isn't grainy, but a smooth picture is more often then not a sign of heavy compression
>>
>>108509787
because of how youtube works, it's better to upscale low res content then not, a 480p picture uploaded as 1440p looks better than leaving it as 480p
