About GUI toolkits, which data structurs/algorithms do they use to find out which button you clicked or overed based on the mouse's (x,y) screen coordinates?
There can be many buttons you can click in a given GUI and it's 2D, so...

not worth optimizing, the only thing worth optimizing is text.
if you care, you could benchmark.
but I think you will be spending 0.00001% of your time on UI input / collision events.
Maybe 0.1-10% on UI rendering depending on how much text you render.
10000hz polling mouse inputs don't send 10000 events, it only does that if you enable raw input, which is usually when the mouse is hidden in 3d games (and even then, the number of events are reduced in something like SDL2 to reduce stutter).

all batteries in laptops/phones are basic flammable lithium ion cells.
300 cycles to reduce the life by 70 or was it 80% capacity?
So based on your life span, if a single charge lasted like 8 hours watching youtube, that means you spent 2400 hours on the laptop.
(Also I'm a dumbass I didn't need to math it, I thought the 2021 was the DATE, not the cycle count).
So if you had that laptop for 4 years (1460 days), that means you used that laptop every day for around 1.38 hours every day.
Now you could get a longer lifespan by getting a huge battery, or really shitty CPU that uses 1/4th the power (anything to increase that 8 hour life to 20 or something), or maybe pay a premium for a laptop with new battery tech that has a better cycle count than 300 (nothing I have heard about, you gotta wait).
8 hours for watching youtube isn't bad, a new arm / amd laptop might be 10 or 15 hours. Not a huge improvement.
>>
>>107848986
It's pushing 5 years. What did you expect?
>>
>>107849481
>(Also I'm a dumbass I didn't need to math it, I thought the 2021 was the DATE, not the cycle count).
*I'm a bigger dumbass because I mixed up the cycle count with hours.
Also I am too tired to realize if these numbers make any sense.
Someone else can probably correct me at what it means.
Because my brain says to just multiply by 8 because cycle = 8 hours, so you spent 11 hours, but that must be wrong...
Someone correct me.

Ever since an update half a year or so ago (CachyOS), when I want to power off, it will most of the time close the browser (brave) and shut down. But sometimes it only closes the browser, and then I have to click power down again. How to fix?

The next problem is (also since that one update), when I turn my rig on, almost always when brave opens, it doesn't restore all the tabs, and instead I have to manually click on "restore". How to fix?

I have been converted.

After going through so much bullshit to get Windows 11 configured the way I want it, I experimented with Linux Mint on an external hard drive and I have to say it’s been amazing. I think we have finally hit an inflection point where the effort to install, customize and use Linux Mint is now less than installing Windows 11 IoT LTSC and running the debloating scripts/reinstalling default apps, and it’s a better experience.

Open source software has also matured to the point that I have found sufficient alternatives for ALL of my windows programs including Paint.NET with the recent Pinta update.

Once I customize the look and feel of Cinnamon/Firefox a bit more I will probably be switching to Linux full time. After years of retarded bugs, obvious features not being implemented, dogshit communities, etc. I think Linux finally made it.

Are you being obtuse on purpose?
Windows doesn't show you the brightness slider unless you're on a laptop, despite the monitor being perfectly capable of being controlled over DDC/CI, it's a design decision not to expose that control.
KDE doesn't have that problem.

Is it stupid to use an 850W PSU to power a 14900K and a 5080, or it will just fine if I undervolt both of them?
>>
>>107849458
Probably be fine. 5080 uses a little over half a 5090 at 360w peak right? 14900k is 250 peak so you've got around 240w left for everything else which should be fine. If people can run a 5090 with 1000w you'll live.

All these fags making bimbo looking sex dolls into robots.

But why not do what futurama did where its just a plain robot and then they overlay the identity overtop. Now granted we cant do that but with ar or vr goggles why not have a character model superimpose on a blank robot like joi and that hooker?

Maybe add hair and clothing of similar mesh so u can twirl ur girls hair or w.e. but beyond that it doesnt even need eyes and shit. Its all presented in vr goggles.

So question how long until a proto holodexk. Where i can create on demand a virtual 3d space like a white villa on a fruitger aero blue beach surrounded by ocean. With a cute emo blonde girl with eyeliner that then i can snuggle with, dance, pick up, and obv smash her puss.
