>>107875706>it's not begging if they only beg once a year! Are you a gypsy? You seem like a gypsy. Still not using KDE btw
>>107875734They literally have a setting to disable it. Begging would be not doing that and constantly nagging you anyway. That's what gypsy cunts do.
>>107875735If it wasn't begging, they simply wouldn't have a notification at all, and would leave it up to the user to donate. You wouldn't have to disable it, it simply wouldn't exist. Still using Xfce btw
>>107875758The user doesn't even know they can donate. They may not even know who KDE is. That notification displayed once a year allows them to inform their users politely and remind them that there is no big corporation behind KDE. It's all built by volunteers. The simple act of informing people will spur more donations to help improve the project. Nothing is ever free of cost. KDE has infrastructure to fund, etc.I would wager most people don't donate to XFCE because they don't know about the project. They'll throw money Linux Mints way, etc, though because they highlight donations but not to XFCE. There's nothing wrong with educating your users. If they donate then great but if not it's no big deal.
I'm looking for a terminal emulator that:>can view images>doesn't have tabs>doesn't have sessions>doesn't have split panes>256 colorsI'm currently using kitty, but it has stuff that i don't need or that tmux does better anyway.

Without changing how people write code, how difficult is it to implement some kind of memory-safety feature (even if not accurate) in a C compiler, so it can show some kind of warning at least? If it can't be done so easily at compile-time, then what about some kind of static-analysis tool that can inspect binaries for potential violations?
>>107875819sounds good oponce you get that figured out, you should write a static analysis tool that can determine whether a program will stop or continue executing forever
>>107875819All you need is linear types.
>>107875819already existshttps://fil-c.org/
>>107875819just use the flag to enable ASAN.Pro mode: enable MSAN.Also enable UBSAN, if this works.Too bad you can't have TSAN at same time too.
How slow is your pc /g/ ?
>>107874172That's honestly not even that bad, sure you're not playing AAA at decent settings, but you've got 20+ years worth of games you CAN play, which is fine.

>>107867930Been looking for a quiet laptop for years and this is it. Quiet mode loses about 20% of performance but it actually is quiet and still enough for 60fps+ gaming.

What's the best Linux distro?
>>107873926Unironically this. FreeBSD and openbsd for that matter just werk in a way that Linux fundamentally does not. On the BSDs there is generally only one or maybe two solutions to a given problem, and that solution is most likely going to be clean, straightforward, and sensical. On Linux there are 17 different possible solutions to one problem, and it seems like none of them work exactly how you would like them to, and it always feels like you are hacking the system and making it's something it's not meant to do

Why are all the employment statistics in the tech industry fake? There's absolutely no chance that the real unemployment rate of web developers is under 20% right now. I wouldn't even be surprised if it's 50%.
>why are things fake?>posts ai slop
>>107875902Ah yes, you must be running the magical website that updates and fixes itself. I am eagerly awaiting this technology to be filtered down to us plebs.
>>107875913What does that have to do with anything? There could be a million jobs but the unemployment rate would still be 50% when there's 2 million people looking for those jobs.
>>107875936so this retarded person thinks that every website is able to update itself now? those jobs just disappear, every web dev go home. lol. i am keen to get a hold of this technology you are suggesting exists. either that or you are larping as a retard who knows nothing about the subject you are posting about.
People always make fun of air coolers. Is it because it is deprecated technology?
>>107869549True many years ago. Now it's a self contained unit you bolt onto the cpu where the heatsink would normally go. No pipes or tanks to fuck around with these days.
>>107875161>It's not worthIt is worth the potential for very quiet computing. I'm using an AIO and one intake fan in an AP201 full mesh case with a zero RPM curve on my GPU. heat kills hddsspeaker msagnets kill hddspower surges kill hdds (use surge ptotected power strips)here endeth the lesson. If you live in arizona with no aircon and stick 4 in some gaymer box with a fan heater gpu and some retarded water cooled crap in a box you designed yourself using your grifter youtube engineering skills and then overclocked everything because ya know youtube grifters and stuck the box between two bif speakers yo, them, ya, hdds fail.
