>>

Why don't you just buy a computer that was made for Linux? So many problems can be easily avoided if you don't get Dellshit that already can barely run Windows because all the drivers and ACPI tables are exactly as fucked up as they can be without creating an unbootable system.

Compatibility hasn't been an issue for years, unless you insist on using abandoned software at which point it's a (You) problem.

What really makes it a mediocre format is the backbone itself (VP8) and its shitty implementations but that's beyond the scope of this thread, let's not derail it with this autism.

Patent pending OG deathadder, Deathadder elite, V2 special edition, and V2 hyperspeed. The v3 has an entirely different shape.

I've gone through many mice and wasted tons of money on all manner of meme mice, but the deathadder is the tried and true shape that just fits the hand perfectly. I guess the basilisk and MX Master 3 are close runner up.

>>

Linux users will really make shit up and larp about having a more useful os instead of being honest and admitting their hobby is tinkering. Gentoo gets fucking mogged in usefulness and usability by whatever the fuck gnome is pushing as a flagship distro (I genuinely cannot be assed to look it up, gnome is that ass), literally any other distro would be a better choice. Gentoo’s whole gimmick of “le everything is compiled from source” is a fun tech demo, but has no real advantage aside from better support on hyper niche or machines from over 20 years ago. Why lie? Why pretend like gentoo is useful? Just because you want to kick yourself in the nuts every time you install a package doesn’t mean this is useful to others.

here is a response for any curious zoomer who wants an actual answer:
>allows for inserting your modifications into the source code before updating
>allows having multiple versions of a package/library eliminating dependency hell to a degree
>supports both systemd AND openrc
>amazing CLI installation media
>you dont have to remove random shit you didnt ask for
>has binary packages if you dont want coompiling
>allows you to remove unwanted features from packages if they are problematic/you want optimization/you want to decrease attack surface
>supports every single fucking architecture under the sun including arm64

All programming language uses English words that never make sense.

If we're talking purely on the merits of the syntax structure, Lisp. Doesn't get more elegant. But if we're accounting for performance ceiling as well, I want to say Nim. It's a niche language, but not rightfully so.
>>
>>107667777
Matlab and Fortran both use 1 based indexing, and they're rather popular. It's the logical way to do it, for math and science in particular. 0 based is an aberration and only existing due to implementation details.

Are these things even worth it anymore? I have the original 8GB pic related. Now the 16GB is almost $170 and the HAT is pretty useless though its done a 2x street price since launch. I could get a lattepanda or something. I like the idea of a Pi5 16GB: enough memory and processor to run better/larger LLMs off 2.5W at ~1 token/sec. Even a solar battery. It's cool to have a philosopher in a box like that. The tinker side GPIO and stuff doesn't interest me for personal projects. Anyway should I just get a Jetson Nano or N150 or something.

>>

I don't want to hate AI, but the sheer amount of it thats just awful dogshit fucking slop makes it impossible to actually like AI at all.

>endless oceans of no effort slop flooding the internet weighing down every fucking website to exhaustion
>every single image search is filled with AI trash that looks awful
>dead inside AI voices narrating garbage AI footage
>AI generated clip compilations of the same clips reposted endlessly
>Every single social media platform has been irreversibly flooded with bots convincing enough to convince the average idiot to do whatever the schizo pushing the bots wants them to do
>bots flooding every trend, every popular post to the point that no human interractions can even be seen
>sadpanda flooded with AI generated slop, still have to type -"ai generated" manually for some reason

Seriously fuck it all, I miss the pre-AI internet more than I ever thought I would

>>
>>107669223
You can think of hypothetical technologies that don't exist now and may never will, that don't have any possible complaints about training data, and I'm sure some would complain about those too. Human level AI that's functionally identical to the way a human works, just orders of magnitude faster? Brain chip that gives anyone instant ability? Both could make the amount of competition much worse and better quality than exists now and some subset of people would complain about that.
