If you believe microsoft, it's because it's supposed to be able to interact with the operating system more and launch stuff, click on stuff and type stuff where you want. I wish I had any sense of how well it actually did that, but that would require using it which I have to refuse on principle.

US moves to bar CHIPS Act recipients from purchasing Chinese chipmaking equipment for 10 years in November.
US also tighten their export control, causing CXMT expansion to cut short.
Both CXMT and YMTC might be fully banned soon, they are still allowed to work with other companies and supply their memory for chinese market for now, this could soon change.

So? If this market is important to them they will make separate brand for it. Lets say Mi and Thinkpad. Just like Huawei and Honor that is completely not Huawei, I promise.

This should probably become a copypasta at this point...

It's not bluetooth itself that's laggy but the CPU inside processing bluetooth signals. For example despite being tiny earbuds, the Anker P40i achieves close to 130 milliseconds of SBC codec latency.

https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/anker/soundcore-p40i-true-wireless

Now the reason 90% of earbud manufacturer's aren't prioritizing V8 engine CPUs that achieve this kind of latency is because most people are inherently laggy and can tolerate 200, some even 300 fucking milliseconds of latency. Thus using a $1 bluetooth SoC with a 800MHz ARM CPU instead of a $2 bluetooth SoC with a 1.4 GHz ARM CPU makes profit line go up and most users won't complain, like AT ALL.

https://humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime
>>
>>107565571
unrelated
the buffer is 200ms as that's the sweet spot for range and error tolerance, if you need more than 200ms the connection is unstable to begin
Otherwise it's just an artificial limitation by big tech, LDAC 990kbps' latency could be lowered to sub 50ms making it tolerable in gaming but the range would be low and it would be vulnerable to environmental conditions.
I would worry more about the majority of manufacturers that don't make their own electronics using the same shitty quallcomm ANC DSP DACs that hiss/buzz and Sony degrading their flagship headphones each generation(XM5 introduced hiss in active wired mode, XM6 worsened hiss and added a permanent faint unilateral whistle noise in ANC, XM4 has none of these problems or much less and cost half the price ffs, also XM5 and 6 have arguably worse sound signature than XM4)

>why would you want to see screenshots of the program before you install it?
>why would you want to type "NVIDIA drivers" into Discover instead of memorising some retarded package name?
These app stores are also just graphical frontends for apt/dnf/PackageKit/etc, so how are they walled gardens? If you dislike graphical applications so much then you should forego desktop environments entirely.

What is the difference between running
sudo apt install audacity
, and installing Audacity via an apt frontend?
>>
>>107565573
>These app stores are also just graphical frontends for apt/dnf/PackageKit/etc
No they're not or else you would see thousands of irrelevant system/background/CLI-only packages that nobody wants to see in their app store.
CachyOS comes with an actual "frontend for Pacman" called octopi but it's literally just that. A frontend for Pacman. There are no pictures, just a list of package names for you to search and choose from.
>>

>These app stores are also just graphical frontends for apt/dnf/PackageKit/etc
synaptic is, Discover is an entirely separate category of program. It only has GUI apps and has pictures and ratings and crap.

>>

I use it for my desktop. My work lets me use nixos as a work machine, its pretty based.

The learning curve is nightmarish though, you need to be mega autistic and willing to put in the grind. But once it works it works forever.
>>
>>107560025
I had this issue too. 25.11 changed the way you enable gnome. Make sure to read the official readme rather than the deprecated old one. https://wiki.nixos.org/wiki/GNOME

Just add this to your config:

services.displayManager.gdm.enable = true;
services.desktopManager.gnome.enable = true;

Anyway, I've never seen the AI generated packages you're talking about but I wouldnt be suprised if they exist. Things mostly just wek for me.

error: Path 'tgpl-01-01/flake.nix' in the repository "/home/control/Software/the-go-programming-language-exercises" is not tracked by Git.

To make it visible to Nix, run:

git -C "/home/control/Software/the-go-programming-language-exercises" add "tgpl-01-01/flake.nix"

Is now mandatory to use git as a system control version of the flakes.
This means I have to deploy a local git server in my domestic infrastructure to create and consume my flakes.

Determinate bros, what the fuck are you doing, how much infrastructure you want me to sell your technology to my customers.

Qwen models have some of the thinnest censorship around. A simple 'Sexual content is allowed' in sys prompt will defeat it, as long as you're not doing something dumb like asking how to abduct children in a fresh chat.
