You really don't have to baby it. I have all burn-in prevention shit disabled (even in service menu) and over 3000 hours without any burn-in in tests. I'm actually starting to believe anons who say things like >>107630254.
Mine also doesn't give you popups just does pixel refresh automatically while in standby and you can turn it on and it cancels it instantly and postpones. No user input required and no annoyances.

Things really aren't as bad as they are being memed about.

Looks in focus to me, it's just a TV with low TVL, hence the blurriness. Zoom in you can see the elements clearly.

Well, technically a PVM but still low TVL compared to computer monitors.

What is the deal with the Anti-AI derangement syndrome? I don't like to judge people, but the anti-AI seem to include an evenly distribution of furries, twitter "artists", people with funny hair color, and a poor understanding of economy.

The letters one is impossible

What’s up with all the anti Windows 7 posts lately?

I switched from Gentoo to Windows 7 Platinum a few weeks ago, and I haven’t had a single issue so far.

It’s noticeably faster than any DE or WM I’ve tried, which honestly surprised me, especially considering I’m running an RTX 5090.

At first, I was worried about security and getting hacked. But it turns out I can install a fully up to date browser and a modern firewall, so that’s no longer a concern.

It’s also much easier to use overall. The UI is consistent, clear, and easy to read. Because of that, I installed it on my girlfriend’s laptop and my parents’ PC as well and they’re really happy with it.

I genuinely don’t understand why some people are so strongly opposed to it, especially considering the massive influx of AI generated packages Linux distros have seen in recent months.

Someone also put a backdoor into xz (which allowed rce over SSH). It was only discovered through SHEER luck.
Also this prompts the question of why the fuck the SSH server is loading a compression library to begin with. Big spaghetti mess of jeet code which depends on a billion other libraries because the Linux OS has no libraries built-in like Windows does.
>>
>>107630142
Linux is literally a server operating system. I don't say this as a jab or anything, it was written from ground up with nothing but a shell in mind. I seriously think all those programmers are better off building a new *desktop* OS from scratch.

This is pretty much it for alternative desktops unless I'm missing something truly obscure

https://www.haiku-os.org/
Both are perpetually unfinished unfortunately

People need to understand that beating a server into being a frankenstein desktop just does not work

If you were going to implement a nested menu program like xmenu but for wayland, what libraries would you use? Wlroots should be able too, but the learning curve is a bit steep
>>
>>107628644
Actually wlroots shouldn't work, turns out it's just for compositors and is the wrong tool for the job when making applications
>>
>>107628644
Depends if you're doing it "from scratch" or not.
Like gtk or qt _could_ be twisted to do that, but you'll have to poke around at the lower level wayland interfaces, because xdg_toplevel isn't really the right type of surface for that.

If you're doing it yourself, all you truly need is libwayland-client and something capable of drawing into some shared memory, e.g. Cairo + freetype2.
>>
>>107628644
wayland is all about NIH'ing, so i'd just implement it myself.

Since Floens, Dickcheese and Ponyfucker are all dead, in this thread we worship Dimitri for being the only faggot still doing his job, but we also throw shit at him for his questionable design choices.
My 2 cents:
Catalog search does not filter, it's just Ctrl+F
You can sort bookmarks in the bookmarks menu but not in the bookmarks swipe tab
Scrollbar is ugly and thick
Pic attachment is not I'm the reply area but it's on the opposite side of the screen
In the bookmarks tab, what's the difference between "unbookmark" and "delete"?
You can't swipe bookmarks away to unbookmark

Pls fix

Depends how worn out they are. Fres ones might be okay for a few years at best but they only have a few hundred P/E cycles before the NAND is literally cooked. The real problem is they're barely cheaper than TLC SSDs which should be illegal desu.
