It is natural for the price/gb to continually decrease. A leveling out of the real price per gb is almost as bad as an increase. Misleading way to use a graph to try to prove a point.

>>107798364This seems a bit off. Seems like distro package manager would have packages that have at least somewhat been tested within the distro and all share common libraries with the distro and such. No issues with needing different library versions or duplication.Direct install scripts could install packages that have not been tested with distro at all and have other conflicts.Seems riskier and more prone to breakage if not done for a specific reason and benefit. Remember, this is my daily driver that I dont want to be fiddling with it all the time.
I've been using Fedora, kde and workstation in alternance for like 2 years. I've recently gotten to understand that it's quite a bit more stable a distro than I thought. Every day there are updates but apparently these are minor version updates to programs, bugs or security fixes. Apparently all major version updates to programs come with new Fedora releases and then for the 13 months lifetime of the release there are no major version updates except the kernel.I don't know how to feel about this, but I previously thought the daily updates had them. So I'm thinking maybe I wanna try a distro which updates major versions like CachyOS which is a rolling release.Anyone have any experience with rolling releases and how linux stable they are compared to a Fedora install? Do they break constantly? I don't usually play around with mine too much and barely install any programs. I only rarely have any problem with Fedora however and would only really consider something a bit more unstable if it were as problem free.

thoughts on fruit arrow?yeah yeah yeah zoomer this fake history that. I just want to talk about this aesthetic, particularly in software. I personally really like it. It feels lively, peaceful, and futuristic. After this came minimalism where UI was super flat, dull, and spaced out. Basically the opposite of the 3D gradient-heavy water vibes of fruit arrow.

>>107798671>According to everyone here, the AI bubble is just about ready to pop since 2023. Let me guess, two more weeks? For nVidia's hype numbers to become the reality of the company, AGI would have to be spontaneously created like a cheap sci-fi novel. 25 year old wired articles about "the singularity" would have to come true. We'd have to be about to enter an unknown post-scarcity economy. The alternative is somehow investors can be convinced to wait another 15 years, funneling more and more money into the machine to keep the hypetrain running until eventually we grind out actual value to match the speculation. Naturally this is outrageously unlikely, so a "correction" is inevitable. The "when" is the tricky part.
