>I secure wiped my SSD from BIOS. it took like 3 seconds. how could it be this fast, isn't it supposed to take at least several minutes? it's a Crucial 1GB.
do you mean 1TB?
it's done "in hardware", but you shouldn't trust that shit.
an analogy: in some cases software sends commands to simply "delete" encryption keys from SSDs, but there is research that shows that "hardware encrypted" data can be recovered, and keys are reused or insecure keys are used once and once again.
just run dban or
dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/your-ssd

Currently reading pic related and really enjoying it. Learning how to build my own containers just with bash commands, learning about all the internals. Haven't had this much fun in a while. It's only 200 pages, absolutely recommended for anyone interested.

Btw, is there ctf but for containers? There used to be such a site but it's no longer working.

Why don't you send a bug report to your package manager signaling their kernel release has faulty generic USB drivers?

When I did some digging, it was caused by the firmware of the keyboard throwing enumeration loops. I'm pretty sure I'm using generic USB drivers, I also had some drivers though for running the RGB, but it didn't fix the issue until I outright replaced what keyboard/mouse I was using...

Anon, the point is that we could be doing great things with our computers and leveraging their RAM to achieve mindblowing things if the software were properly optimised; instead, I had to buy 32GB of RAM to do what 16GB used to, and I had bought 16GB to do what 8GB used to, et cetera. Why are ""people"" (gamers) still so anti-VA? Modern VA panels have absurdly fast response times on par with IPS (faster actually except for black to black). On the plus side you get the blackest blacks, whitest whites and no backglow messing up everything.

I understand OLED is superior to both and TN is the competitive choice but it's weird seeing how many people still tell each other to steer clear of VA when your average $200 VA panel is almost certainly better than a $200 IPS one.

Some of the more recent IPS displays I've gotten have somehow made the glow much less noticeable. It's still there, but not as obvious as the distractingly uneven glow I got on a display from around 2015.

>>
>>107655873
I actually kind of like the glass stuff. I don't like how buttons have less useful area and so iPhones don't get five or six buttons at the bottom of the phone anymore, but the readability hits aren't as bad as I thought because I mostly know what buttons' labels say anyway, so I don't really need to read the button label if there's something gnarly underneath it.
I'm actually coming around to the opinion that Alan Dye's Liquid Glass thing is overhated. It deserves to be hated, but not _quite_ as much as it's hated.

How do you fuck up your RAID 5/6?
Also the main problem with RAID 5 is that it's basically a mathematical certainty that another disk will have an URE during rebuild and nuke your data if your array is big enough.

I use MDADM RAID 1 + LVM + XFS

because my """server""" is literally just a first gen intel NUC with 8 USB HDDs attached so ZFS is not an option due to hardware limitations.
>>
>>107654812
That's about as retarded as pulling a working lightbulb when another one goes out. The raid software tells you which serial number is failed. The serial number is on a sticker on the disk, that's the one you replace.

let me guess. you need more

Why is this hobby ensnared in so much faggottry? Some customization options transcend sillyness like am I going to discern between half a gram of key press resistance and why does that warrant a premium, it's borderline audiophile level.
On another note, I got a Royal Kludge keyboard with RGB lighting and the overall build quality is alright, but i'd like my keycaps to be backlit. What keycap manufacturer do you recommend?

Python, one of the very few modern & popular programming languages not owned by big tech, is now begging hard for money at python.org (picrel), Wikipedia style.

This comes after the PSF rejected an US government grant because the PSF can't stop shilling for DEI: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/10/28/211237/python-foundation-rejects-government-grant-over-dei-restrictions
The same PSF then reported a surge of new donators following the above rejection: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/11/09/2017240/python-foundation-donations-surge-after-rejecting-grant---but-sponsorships-still-needed
Yet, they are now begging for money, using a big, intrusive and cringe banner at python.org, kek.

This is what your donated money is used for: https://www.python.org/psf/grants
>Conferences (e.g. PyCon Italia)
>Event site subscriptions (Meetup.com) (e.g. London Django Meetup)
>Django Girls Workshops (e.g. Django Girls Busan Workshop)
>PyLadies Workshops (e.g. All Day PyLadies Workshop)

These faggots have a whole page dedicated to their DEI philosophy: https://www.python.org/community/diversity
Their Libera Chat #python IRC channel is filled to the brim with trannies (they/them and she/her pronouns set as their IRC name).

>Software will stop working, nVidia already dropping support by the end of 2026, Steam will last maybe 2/3 more years.
doesnt work like that, its all about OS Market Share. nvidia and valve only dropped Windows 7 because it dropped below 5% market share, Windows 10 is in a different situation where hundreds of millions of users cant upgrade to 11 because of their old PCs, so Windows 10 will hold a substantial market share for another 10 years easily
