Is the nvidia driver dx12 bug ever going to be fixed? You'd think with the growth in linux users they'd prioritize it a little more. I switched earlier this year to linux, I wouldn't be using nvidia if I had planned to use it before building my pc, but it is just retarded that half the games I want to play perform like shit because one of the richest companies ever wont bother fixing it.

I would wager that the m.2 slot is being shared by either SATA or PCI
Consult the motherboard manual (downloadable .pdf from the manufacturer site)
>>
When using a printer through a print server, does the printer need to be compatible with the client computer you're printing from? Or is that all bypassed and the printer only needs to be compatible with the computer it is installed on and shared from (the print server computer)?

>my sister has a Samsung all-in-one from 2011
>big ugly bulky old, but at least it doesn't have the hardware DRM fuckery of modern printers
>she's getting a ARM-based Mac M4 Mini soon, maybe for Christmas or in January
>it is almost certainly not going to be compatible with the old printer that only has x86 drivers etc
So I was thinking I could send her an old x86 Celeron Windows computer, install the printer on that, and share the printer on her network, so she can still use it from her new Mac.

Will that work, or will the fundamental incompatibility between the Mac and the printer still be an obstacle?
She lives overseas so I don't want to send it or buy a cheap fanless mini PC for no good reason.

>>
My PC only boots if I turn off the PSU hold the power button for 30secs and then turn it on. What does this mean?
>>
>>107657504
Using a print server means the client sends the document to the server, and then the server connects to the printer and prints it. So no the client doesn't need to be compatible.
But are you sure it won't be supported? There are some standard printing protocols, not every printer needs a bespoke driver. It's also possible that there are projects to support it from the OS's side, basically a rewrite of the drivers - look up if there's any way to support it in CUPS for example. Now macs don't run CUPS but if a macbook has no way to install drivers that are available on linux that would be truly funny

do you mean 1TB?
it's done "in hardware", but you shouldn't trust that shit.
an analogy: in some cases software sends commands to simply "delete" encryption keys from SSDs, but there is research that shows that "hardware encrypted" data can be recovered, and keys are reused or insecure keys are used once and once again.
just run dban or
dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/your-ssd

When I did some digging, it was caused by the firmware of the keyboard throwing enumeration loops. I'm pretty sure I'm using generic USB drivers, I also had some drivers though for running the RGB, but it didn't fix the issue until I outright replaced what keyboard/mouse I was using...

Why are ""people"" (gamers) still so anti-VA? Modern VA panels have absurdly fast response times on par with IPS (faster actually except for black to black). On the plus side you get the blackest blacks, whitest whites and no backglow messing up everything.

I understand OLED is superior to both and TN is the competitive choice but it's weird seeing how many people still tell each other to steer clear of VA when your average $200 VA panel is almost certainly better than a $200 IPS one.

Some of the more recent IPS displays I've gotten have somehow made the glow much less noticeable. It's still there, but not as obvious as the distractingly uneven glow I got on a display from around 2015.

I actually kind of like the glass stuff. I don't like how buttons have less useful area and so iPhones don't get five or six buttons at the bottom of the phone anymore, but the readability hits aren't as bad as I thought because I mostly know what buttons' labels say anyway, so I don't really need to read the button label if there's something gnarly underneath it.
I'm actually coming around to the opinion that Alan Dye's Liquid Glass thing is overhated. It deserves to be hated, but not _quite_ as much as it's hated.

On another note, I got a Royal Kludge keyboard with RGB lighting and the overall build quality is alright, but i'd like my keycaps to be backlit. What keycap manufacturer do you recommend?
