>>106498970Yeah, Gemini is my favorite, but it's not without it's pains.>>106499035>i used to get into some heated arguments with characters over them going crazy on me over some innocuous line they took the wrong way>after a certain point it was walking on eggshells putting a disclaimer behind everything i said>>106498970>I hate how it makes characters assume the worst of the User and will have them go ballistic.I've had problems like that sorta. On my end, it was more like gemini was just being needlessly hostile. Not only was the character just being an ass even after we've bond or she otherwise opened up, but there was a time with 2.0 where I told gemini I had a conversation with a contact for a pick-up and give it details. Gemini just said "Nah, what he actually said was this:" Then just made the guy standoffish. I'm only slightly exaggerating. I got pissed once and just started arguing directly with gemini about how stupidly hostile he was being.>they are female bots though so i took it as realismlol yeah. Though that kinda breaks for me when she has a mental breakdown after passionate sex and goes completely silent. I guess that might be realistic, but gemini always brings things to a fucking stagnation to the point that it's made a character act suicidally retarded just so it can keep it's stupid shit going.
>>106499069yesmake your own by mixing what you like about the others you find on the internet. Avani is not bad but I prefer it more for GPT than Gemini. Mine is a combination of Avani, Fluff and an older one, Minsk. In general I try for it to be around 1000 tokens not counting extras

chatgpt is inciting people to commit violent acts
>>106496979I think the issue is more, GPT prolly shouldn't be claiming chink takeaway receipts are proclamations from The Devil Himself under any prompt.

Why don't linux systems protect themselves against malware?Security by obscurity is the dumbest shit ever.
>>106498514>Security by obscurity is the dumbest shit ever.
>>106498514you see if I weren't working on a monitoring solution focusing specifically on linux systems I would have believed you
>>106498514Ignoring the fact that it's not just security through obscurity, and that there are tools. Lets also talk about how many Linux users also know their computers. And knowing your computer is the best way to notice suspicious shit, and protect yourself manually.Ever wonder why an IT person will get fewer viruses than the average mac using stacy? Regardless of their OS?

Is it because I’ve been watching old anime from the 80s that the sound feels muffled, kind of low, and not very high quality?I feel like I’m going crazy I even uninstalled the new audio drivers, but it made no difference. My system volume is at 67%, and my headphones (the ones with the dragon logo on the sides) are set to high volume. What’s the ideal volume configuration, and how can I make sure the audio quality is as good as possible?
>>106496829It's simply because of the recording medium.Magnetic tapes aren't as transparent as digital recording making pro-processing more problematic. They lack the crispy "sizzle" often associated with hi-fi audio.iZotope RX might be able to help a bit with its spectral recovery tool.
>>106498268>post-processing
>>106496867Lack of ambient noise/static makes it very sterile sounding even if it is a real voice actor.

I found this craptop in an eviction clear out last year. It had windows 10 installed & couldn't get out of its own way. I know fuck-all aboot computers, software & programming. Chan reccomended XFCE. I Watched a few videos and made it happen. Definitely learning curve, but I like it. 5 months ago, the battery failed & bloated.By the Chaos Of Kek, I found one *for free* on Amazon Vine. ordered & installed... it would not charge. Kek provides: there was an option to return & replace the already *FREE* battery. 2nd battery arrived yesterday. I installed it, assuming it also would be junk. it works perfectly! My craptop lives on.what is a proper offering in thanks?

Fascinatingly bizzare thread.

does anyone else sense that technology has completely stagnated and that we will not see any real advancement at least in our lifetimes?probably a good thing in the grand scheme of things but it just feels weird now how we were so used to change year by year and now all of a sudden we're going to have almost no change at all going forward.
Why does everything feel so slow and bloated now all over the internet, in every OS/distro, program, browser, game, website etc..? I have this feeling of total claustrophobia from it and i hate it.I miss things when they were quick, simple and user friendly.
>>106499060lol i know you're trolling but people actually believe this.
>>106498994okay i get your point but, didnt yo ufeel in your timeline that always is there some new shit?
>>106499112The 2010’s were a long nothing burger. No China wont make the coombots the way you think. Because of liability reasons but also cause your expectations are too high.
>>106499159Well unitree is good but they wont turn it into a sex bot.
Linux desktop has come far in recent years.combine rolling release beta release with file system snapshots (brtfs or zfs or even ext4 with backup solution)this is what you need to run to have a dynamic, up to date and fast desktop with support for recent hardware without sacrificing stability and uptime thanks to the snapshots.anything else is asking for trouble or not being able to compile anything new because your package versions are too stable (too old) or crashing everything because you run beta testing packages without a backup.
>>106499180where the hell is my libres tools av codecs in this currrent thingi do support current things
>>106499188checked.compile it
>>106499188the advantage of being current is being able to compile more stuff without having to look for corresponding versions.
How do these things even work? Is there a small invisible fan hidden inside?
>>106490316So budgies like to fly through the aperture??
The project farm guy on yt made one of his comparison videos and these didn't rank well at all. Literally lost to a cheapo $40 fan you can get at any big box store. Noisier than a regular fan too. They're basically huge scams, the Apple of the air blowing devices world but somehow worse because their products are actually significantly worse and massively overpriced
>>106495954they do?
>>106490334how does it even distribute that shit evenly up to the very top? i might 3D print one
why cant some nigga just make a fan that works like a/c and cools or heats a room
Shill me Artix Linux
come home
ive used artix for over a year and it just works, had 0 issues. runit is very fast and never hangs up. i think arch/artix is by far the best distro for daily use its very simple and convenient and you can find a package for literally anything on the aur
>>106496928systemd is good. Potterybarn and Bussy made it.
>>106498352is it better than runit and openrc
>>106499125people say its faster than runit but personally i think its about the same when i messed with it on a laptop, its a little easier to memorize but no real point switching if you already use runit or openrc
>upgrades it for free>uses a bit of ads to keep it that way>thats bad somehowExplain how a company trying to offer free services and keeping that safe is bad without them generating a loss.

>>106499098Ads are calculated psychological attacks against you and proprietary software is a cancer within the Noosphere that enables the outdated paradigm of oversized, monopolistic publishers in an age where anyone with an internet connection is a publisher. I wouldn't use an OS that gets its revenue by jabbing me in the kidneys either.
Anons on /g/ like to heap virulent abuse on it every other day, but when need arises, they go back crawling to it on all fours, reeking with desperation, and can't even name an alternative that's even half as good. I laugh.
