why has ubuntu fallen so hard?
tried all the versions and every single software that was install and use suddenly was filled with problems.
sandboxing problems
wayland problems
uncompatibility everywhere.

it went from the easiest to use distro to being one of the most complex to use ones.
not even arch has that much of problems and i think is mostly bloat.

Probably due to multiple monitors not being native to MacOS. It's primarily intended for laptops or iMacs with a single built in display. Linux and Windows have been far more likely to be used in multi-monitor setups over the past several decades.

It's easy. Here is a good playlist with everything you need to know. Follow along with it:

You don't really need fail2ban btw, if you disable the password login and only login using SSH, but it's nice to have.

Imgur has completely and totally blocked all UK users from accessing the website because of the Online Safety Act.

If you're a Britanon, try it, you cannot open it:
https://imgur.com/

In addition, any website which shows imgur-hosted images now displays pic related in their place to all UK users, making many sites, guides, forums, etc completely unusable.

We're only 2 months into the OSA era and the internet is already changed beyond all recognition for all British people.

Things are only going to get worse in 2026 as "Phase 3" of the OSA begins in the early portion of that year.

not being able to PICK WHICH FUCKING SONG it should play being only allowed to skip FIVE TIMES is one of the most jewish things i had ever experienced.
it's not even about paying for premium, but paywalling the most basic features of a music player is insanity to me. all of which ON TOP OF ALREADY PLAYING SHITTONS OF ADS.
i mostly listened to podcasts so i just ended up using AntennaPod instead and it's so much better. every time an episode ended spotify would play unrelated TrannyPodcast2.0 and then this shit would pop up in my recommended. blows my fucking mind how normalniggers can stomatch this

>not being able to PICK WHICH FUCKING SONG it should play being only allowed to skip FIVE TIMES is one of the most jewish things i had ever experienced
Holy shit I keep forgetting that this is even a thing on Spotify, suddenly I remember writing somewhere with one of my friends a few years ago and we skipped a few annoying songs and I asked why he wasn't skipping the current song and he said he couldn't, and I was so confused.

I just installed cassette receivers with CD changers in two of my cars and I've been having a blast using them, they work almost completely perfectly and I don't even miss having Bluetooth anymore, I just don't care.
I have a cassette recorder here at the house and I took it with me to the nursing home today because a band was playing and my grandma wanted to see it, I just recorded that music on the tape and now I can play it here at the house, in the car, or wherever else I want to. If I really do want it on the computer, then I already have a cassette deck at my computer for recording, so I can do that.

It's also the easiest possible form of piracy. You plug a cassette recorder into your computer and you simply lie to it. You tell it that you've plugged in a pair of headphones. Your computer doesn't know. Your computer doesn't know that you're actually recording music to another medium. A medium that you can play back at any time.
Hell, if you really wanted to, you could pipe Spotify into a cassette deck and just hit pause whenever the advertisements come up. That's how people did it back in the day with the radio.

Actually, I take it all back, don't do any of this, I'm sick of millennials driving up the prices of old technology that I actually use because nostalgia or whatever. There is no reason that cassette changers should be $300 on eBay when none of them even work anymore because all the belts have turned into rubber goo.

>These things are basically just laptop hardware, right? Is there any reason not to use Ubuntu or regular Arch?
No and they're basically laptops in a handheld gaming form factor.
The only reason you'd want to use Bazzite or steamOS is because you want to take advantage of the steam game mode which is arguably one of the best UX experiences for gaming. Though you can get the same experience with big picture mode.
As for other distros, you may want to check out Cachy OS (arch) or Nobara (fedora). Both aren't immutable. Cachy arguably is the best because of its optimizations but you'll need to be comfy with configurations which it sounds like you are.
>>106747985
It'll be the fastest but the battery situation is utter dog shit. There aren't a lot of options for power with these because the chips are only marginally getting more efficient and battery tech hasn't improved. The win 5 is the result of that.

> The e-ID will remain optional. This is a strong promise from its supporters, who insisted on this point during the campaign, even though the word “optional” does not appear in the law. However, examples of the introduction of e-ID in other countries show that it is difficult to do without it – without having to go through tedious procedures.
>The e-ID could well become the minimum standard, posing a problem for all those who refuse to use it or have major difficulties performing simple digital tasks. In Switzerland these people represent almost a third of the population.
>The corollary is that dependence on our smartphones, which are already an essential part of our private and professional lives, will only increase. This development is certainly inevitable, but it will have to be accompanied by training measures to avoid widening the digital divide even further.

>In 2021 Swiss voters rejected the e-ID by a resounding 64%. At the time, the fact that responsibility would be entrusted to private service providers and concerns about the protection of personal data led to the rejection of the project.
>The government has now come back with a proposal that is entirely managed by the state and incorporates the principle of data minimisation: users will share only the information that is strictly necessary. In concrete terms, people will be able to prove that they are of age to buy wine, without disclosing their date of birth.
>But the authorities have also opted for a cautious approach: the e-ID will be free and will serve only to prove identity, like a physical identity card. This contrasts with the systems in place in most other countries, where electronic identity often offers additional functionalities.

No country will escape. It's over. Are (You) next?

>>
>>106751049
>The qestion is if google will still allow installing apks.
First of all, no shit they will. You will be able to install unverified apks if
>your phone doesn't have GMS and Play Protect
>you disable GMS and/or Play Protect on your phone before installing the apk
And second of all, the app will almost certainly be verified. So even if you have GMS/PlayProtect you'll be able to install it from outside Play Store.

And, btw, if your Android phone is "Google free" then you won't have Play Protect blocking unverified apk signatures. Which means you can "sideload" anything you want. Unverified apps are only blocked on devices which actually have Play Protect, GMS and probably GPI too.
