>>108529138my company is basically measuring the work done in burnt tokens. I keep asking Cursor for things so basic it's embarrassing, but the counter needs to keep ticking. it's the first time me wasting company money makes my boss happy beyond belief.
>>108529138The primary concern with token-based systems is that users have no assurance whether they are being deceived by the AI provider or not.A superior model would be for the user to clearly articulate their issue, and the AI would respond with a definitive price or quantity of tokens required to resolve it. If additional tokens are needed, the user would not incur further charges. Conversely, if the user attempts to exploit the system, they would face penalties in some form.
>>108531312>AI would respond with a definitive price or quantity of tokens required to resolve itAI doesn't resolve any issues, so it's impossible.

Even Digital Foundry hates Unreal Engine 5, just for different reasons. They're fine with DLSSing the shit out of their games to run decently, but they'll get mad the moment stutters appear. As someone who owns a 9070 XT, I concur. None of the games I play ever reach 100% GPU utilization at locked 60Hz, but they still feel like crap due to bad frame pacing or even the new animation error metric that Gamers Nexus has started measuring.

They created the most retarded module system in human history. Even the shitty headers are better.
>>108528439>To this day I do not understand why they rejected epochs. After seeing how much of a shitshow the std::string ABI break was you'd think they would have standardized something to allow doing breaks cleanly instead of electing "Well let's just never break ABI again. Surely that won't be too hard."I'm not even sure we need epoch as the language versions themselves are the ABI, if you can't use C++17 because your software was made for C++11 then it's fine, you can still use this versionbasically forever, just like we're still making C89 software nearly 40 years later.I deal wtih C++98-17 at work, still no sign of adopting C++20 or newer, all these guarantees they're putting into place to get old code to run on newer versions of the language are worthless to me and to millions of others, we would rather have better hashmap and shit than the decades old broken implementation because it would break the code of an imaginary software.I understand not breaking everything all the time but a few breaks here and ther to make our lives easier is fine.
>>108528487Same sort of deal. The important part is TUs provide information about ABI version for compatibility and fail to link if there's an incompatibility. Whether that's epochs like in P1881 or something else doesn't matter too much.I do I definitely agree that newer versions being incompatible with older versions should be something the language designers can do with minimal impact.

My steam overlay no longer works on CachyOS and I'm struggling to figure out why. I noticed it a few days ago, whenever there is an issue I usually just update my system and it works, however for a few days I have been getting this message and I have been unable to update my system >installing libjpeg-turbo (3.1.4.1-1.1) breaks dependency 'libjpeg-turbo=3.1.3' required by lib32-libjpeg-turboFrom my understanding, this is a 32-bit package that Steam/Proton uses a lot, which makes me think it might have something to do with my steam overlay not working? So I removed the package, updated my system, then reinstalled the package. My system is now up to date, but my steam overlay is still not working. This is annoying as I can't save any clips, and I got a 1v5 ace clutch in Cs2 I want to save ;-; Not sure what is the issue, I was certain it was this package, but even after updating I'm still stuck. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?
>>108531266If you're using Wayland then the overlay is broken there. I don't know why, it just is. I never used the overlay anyway and always disabled it in most games.
You know how DAW's on Linux have a thing that will let them load Windows VST's? I wish DaVinci Resolve on Linux let you load OFX plugins from Windows, because BCC Damaged TV Dissolve is the only reason I have to dual boot. Fucking hate Windows, it just froze again.
>>108531301I resent that Windows doesn't even have a TTY shortcut to say "FUCK the running GUI threads, FUCK everything, let's perform a command directly". If your desktop ever freezes on Linux, you can fix it immediately with Ctrl+Alt+F2, holy shit Windows is so fucking bad.

Anon who's computer died to a power surge a few days ago here. Sorry to blog, but I gotta thank you guys. Took it in to Microcenter. They said they'd have to reinstall Windows, which would wipe my whole drive, but they could backup and save SOME of the stuff on it. This was $100 and $150 respectively. This was obviously a ripoff and sounded like bullshit, but I remembered you fags talking about getting a USB of Windows shit and booting off that to repair the OS or bios or something, brought that up, and they went>...oh, yeah, that'd work. And it'd keep your PC as-is, no wipe or backup needed.>$30And it worked perfectly. Everything's back to normal. Fucking hell. If it wasn't for you, /g/, I'd have probably paid a ton of money to lose who-even-knows how much of my data. Thank you very, VERY much, you really saved my stupid ass.
give it back, jamal
