>>108351903idk what any of those fancy words mean but its neat to me that "if i were rich..." implies that history would be rewriten to accommodate, a tacit admission that a lot of things would also be different, and "if i was rich..." is very much centered in the moment. to me, it shows a shift in the general understanding of causal relationships but im schizophrenic so..

how i can get rid of distro hopping? i stayed in arch (btw) but i felt incomplete
>>108349780if you really want something now, nothing is stopping you from getting a flatpak or appimageprobably a better way to test before committing to an emerge
>>108349939That is also what I end up doing, but at that point there really isn't any good claim for a speedup. I'm just really skeptical that on modern hardware you're gonna get much of a noticeable difference of performance. Maybe if you're using an old IBM thinkpad or something
i just use debian on everythingwhat's the use case for distro hopping?
>>108342389>how i can get rid of distro hopping?Windows11 Pro, then actually use your computer for getting this done, rather than living inside your OS.
>>108342389My honest to god Nigga, let me tell you something: All Linux distros have quirks. All linux distros break from time to time. All linux distros will give you a similar experience. That being said, install Ubuntu and forget about everything else. That's literally it. Whenever you think you're missing out with other distros, remember what I said earlier, stick to Ubuntu. Make Ubuntu do what you want (cause you can), modify the shit out of it. Really use it and you'll discover you where not missing on anything. Ubuntu is the answer. It IS the most corpo distro there is, but remember, Ubuntu LTS is OBLIGATED to work, because Canonical's clients depend on it. That's more than 99% of distros can say.So repeat after me: Ubuntu! Now get the fuck out.

How did people in the 90's viewed technology? Was it really exciting or instead something they got used to.

something fucky going on with audio settings that I don't getputting my headphones on "analog stereo output" gives weird numbers like 50% and 60% not existing and going 49 -> 51however, putting my headphones on "digital stereo (IEC958) output" the max audio depends on what the analog wasif I change to digital when analog was at 20% then the 100% sounds as low as 20%putting on analog, cranking to 100%, changing to digital and putting on 50% makes it work but I'm not sure if this is a bug or working as intended

nowhere to post this, but since openwrt is linux I'll rant herewhen the fuck are we going to get wifi6e with reasonable pricing on their table of hardware?my setup has 3 wifi6 modems in mesh covering the whole house, I'd love to get 1 wifi6e modem near the computers do some streaming on the 6ghz band between devices, been waiting literally years and there's barely any support for reasonably priced wifi 6e modems yet, and we'll get to wifi 8 next year already
