oh and by the way, if you want the program to not close after closing the terminal then run
>disown
or
>disown -a
for all background processes started through this terminal
>>
What's the best way to interact with dbus? I do display configuration on Gnome (wayland), and since there is no neat tool like xrandr available, AFAIK the only way to do things like rotate the screen (from the command-line) is to use dbus. So I've built a python script that does some black magic with python-dbus and it works, but I don't know if this is the best way to do it, plus I have no clue what I'm doing or what dbus actually does. I heard about gdbus, which is a command-line tool, but here I would need to parse a lot of output myself. So how do I interact with dbus?
>inb4 use a wlroots-based compositor + wlr-randr

That works, thanks.
>disown
That doesn't quite work. I can add it after the final & and then I can close the terminal without it closing the program but the terminal doesn't exit properly. I enter "exit" and instead of exiting it goes to another line and I can't do anything, I can't enter new commands or ctrl + C or anything. I can kill the terminal and that doesn't close the program, but this also happens without the disown.

We can fork it bros
>>
>>107595376
You can but nobody is though. I think LXDE still gets sporadic commits now and again but it doesn't receive that much attention when all the devs use LXQt.

You'd probably want to port to modern GTK or fork GTK2 development too because ain't nobody doing any work on older versions of GTK anymore. GNOME is all-in on GTK4.

I'm buying a small sticker printer (counts as technology), and I found that the seller also sells used ones (marked as "post-display") for 1/3 the price.
What's the scam? Should I go for it? I don't want to give a busted broken printer as a gift.

Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™

I need a laptop for school and work.
My max budget is $550

The most important features are:
- good keyboard and trackpad (Dont care about red eraser thing, I almost always use a mouse)
- good screen for readability
- good thermals
- modern bluetooth and wifi compatability
- slim light build for lugging it around and using it in random places

Use case:
- reading pdf files
- zoom meetings
- running bots

I haven't worked in three years because of a traumatic brain injury. My goal is to make every single one of you faggots as unemployable as I am.

I am working on automating vibe coding and vibe debugging. I've done both things a great deal myself, so I know exactly how to automate them. You can also automate basic app creation....sort of. Basically you give the AI agent an app idea and keep saying "yes" on a loop whenever it offers to add another feature. Run the script and after, I dunno, a hundred iterations, you'll have something pretty good. Try a thousand if you feel like spending, I dunno...an extra 50 cents? API calls are like a fraction of a penny, especially if you're using one of the older models.

After a year and a half of searching (fortunately while employed), I finally got an offer. Ended up being a local place who found me through a recruiter.
I'm finally escaping Autosar hell and moving from automotive to defense.
I should be dealing with less jeets, it's a raise from 85k to 105k, and now I'll be programming in Rust.

Seems like the hundreds of applications I sent out was a total waste of time, it was only due to a recruiter that I got this job.

They definitely do. I see phones with over 5000mah who has this new battery tech and they lose 1% battery health each month on average. It's about twice as fast at degrading as current li-ion batteries

>consumer statistics show that less than 10% of users care about thinness or AI shit, while the vast majority want bigger batteries

If they give us big batteries they know we wont upgrade as often. Now they gave us the new battery tech which provides much bigger batteries but degrades faster than ever before. If they make the perfect phone nobody will upgrade for years

The reference 5700xt design was my favorite one. It worked well in my dancase builds I had zero issues with any type of bsod issues, and once you crank up that fan curve it cooled things very well. It may have also helped that I repasted it with kryonaut and did the washer mod. 6 years down the line it still runs great as a htpc and emulator/light gaming pc.

Unfortunately this. Intel's ivory tower retard management refused to take GPU seriously for decades and now there's not enough fake money in the whole empire to buy their way forward. They have to eat shit for 20 years to be a serious player now.

Because I can't get that card at MSRP. I would immediately buy it if I could and by March I would be flooding this board with videos (with audio) of cute candid daddy daughter stretching and kissing and potty training vlogs

But I can't so I don't so I'm not, but it's incredibly invigorating to know that my little cutie heaven on earth is only less than 5 years away

How far off are we from having the woman in the red dress?

Assuming that we:

>Have an artificial intelligence very close to an AGI

>Mechatronics and Robotics have evolved to the point of mimicking the behavior of humans convincingly

>Feminazis and other retarded people won't have means to hijack any technological efforts towards this goal

Might sound like a shitpost, but sexuality and porn are a huge business, this could drive up serious research, even if the end goal is just more effective gooning.
