I downloaded the mobile Opera browser app to use the built in vpn on my phone because I'm too lazy to do it any other way. It works well enough, but Opera is driving me fucking nuts with a popup damn near any time I open the app. How do I disable it from asking if I want to enable features or take a survey or any other bullshit like that? To be clear, it's not popup ads from any website, it's the app itself being annoying and I can't find a way to disable this "feature".

I remember 5 years ago so someone on /g/ predicted that soon we would not able to buy PC parts - not even because they would be too expensive, but because manufactures would simply stop selling to individual consumers, as doing so would be inefficient in comparison to selling to companies.
I did not screencap the post unfortunately.
It's not rocket science if you keep an eye on the markets and extrapolate where things are going.Decades ago you needed a full PC to write an email. Nowadays normals do all their everyday shit on their phone and they can even easily connect their TV and a keyboard to it if they happen to write more or do office stuff. The PC will return to the professional field just like in the early 80s together with the pricetag.

>>107559172would you be inclined to open up that switch and show us the insides? dont remove any heatsinks that are attached with just thermal compound, but a picture of the pcb would be nice.im asking because if there are 3 large chips, then each of them are the same realtek 4 * 2.5gbe + 2 10gb sfp. but if there are only two of them then they should each be a maxlinear 8 * 2.5gbe + 2 * 10g sfp chip.(i dont recall the exact model numbers of each solution at the top of my head, but i can go "find out" later on)

>>107561066makes sense, I tried disabling it fully too and my tv started bootlooping. I thought it was just my tv being shitty. If you grant it accessibility access you can change it so it hijacks the home button call. Most of the time when I turn it on it launches into straight into projectivy. Occasionally I will see the google launcher with unremoveable ads everywhere and then it will switch to projectivy after 20ms

Youtube 15 years ago was so fun to browse. You could look up "nigger fight" in the search bar, and get a million results. You would get reccomended videos about race realism and holocaust denial or 9/11 conspiracies. You could tell anyone to kill themselves in the comments. There would be KKK or school shooting meme compilations with a shit ton of views. Youtubers used to make response to videos to each other where they freely threw around ad hominem attacks. You could even sometimes find softcore porn or propaganda content uploaded by some islamic terrorist group from a third world country. There used to be viral call of duty trolling videos where adults bullied little kids in video games. Will another generation ever experience internet like this again?
>>107559688Hi /pol/ !
>>107560193You will never be a woman.
I remember those days. I stumbled upon videos of conspiracy theorist who believed in Agartha and dinosaurs lived in the Earth's core in 2012 and this ex US marine talking about shooting dinosaurs underground and encountering Lizard men. Comments were crazy. And I remember even up to late 2018 you could find KKK podcast on Youtube such as grand wizards giving speeches filled with so much bigotry that they made Matt Walsh seem moderate. In 2012 West Booru bapist church also had a YT channel with the song "your army is marching to hell" Also back when I was 14 you could search "booty shake" "sexy ass dance" on Youtube and find countless chicks dancing and that was like my fetish then, now its all corporate professional twerk dance studios not individuals in their bedrooms. Youtube probably forbids/disprioritizes twerk videos from randoms who can't be age verified because I noticed a huge decline in that around 2015, (twerk dance studios replacing chicks in their bedroom) It was definitely the wild west in those day. Late 2011 is when Youtube started saying "use your real name instead of a username" contradicting a 2006 YT policy to never give away your real name, its all about pleasing capitalist advertisers. Outside of twerk videos declining which was 2015, I noticed mass censorship begin in 2016 with Trump resistance and cement in late 2018. Trump obviously sucks but it really was pathetic to see big tech act like they are the resistance to him.Best way to look at it is 2005-2010 (wild west youtube with loose rules)2011-2015 (advertisers dominate, rules are better enforced but hate speech is allowed)2016-2018 (mass censorship intensifies)2019-2025 (ai powered censorship, words like unaliving, pdf file and grape become norm)Today the right wing conspiracy theories live on at Aal platforms are censored in some way, I wish we could have an uncensored platform that was not exclusive to alt right chuddery.
Back in August 2008 I was posting hudreds of racist moon man memes on Youtube and my account got suspended in a few days, so even then some policy enforcement existed.
>>107559688YouTube 20 years ago would email you your password in plaintext if you forgot it.THAT was fun. Just remember this anecdote if you ever feel inadequate.
