Do the latest X series come available with discrete GPU?
What is AMD Radeon? Is it discrete or integrated GPU?
What about Intel Iris? Is it just latest-gen Intel onboard graphics?

no one responded but on the off chance anyone cares about something similar;
ended up just going with an hp elitebook 845 g8. 5650u is more or less on par with 4750u(seems worse on multithreading but better single core and better on battery while having identical APU performance) and while you can get 4750u systems for $200~ they're usually C grade(or worse) wear levels, without charger or random other bullshit. Meanwhile there seems to be a pretty heavy firesale on this specific elitebook SKU across multiple vendors and even "real" vendors like newegg are selling refurbs for $230~ and you're getting it at "excellent" wear rating and likely better battery health. Which is technically important since shit isn't for me but for a kid and it's not cool to force them to deal with random dumbass quirks.
tbdesu if you want a low cost APU machine it seems like it's just a solid option in general. Can't even really price out a set top box at the same performance level as far as I can tell(you could do a bit better if you spend more and get a real GPU but then you're spending more and it's not a laptop). though if you don't need /care about the APU and just want a shitposting machine I probably would've gone with something else.

iirc i have a spare L380 (non-yoga) as one of the spares at work and while it's alright you can clearly see where they saved shekels with all 3 variants (non-touch, touch, yoga) all having the same lower plate with the pen insert.
>>
>>107558274
All iGPU but iGPU performance has come a long way since then assuming that you get the better CPU.

>>
>>107557209
Both Linux and FreeBSD use the same OpenZFS implementation. The only difference is that FreeBSD can use it as a full boot environment by default.
>>
>>107557256
I know. But there's a difference between "implementation" in terms of how zfs manages storage and "implementation" as an integral component of the entire operating system. I'm using root-on-ZFS-on-Linux right now and have had to deal with kernel modules not loading, shoddy bootloader ZFS support, disappearing boot entries, initramfs failing to find/include relevant modules, etc etc. The kind of stuff that I don't see happening on FreeBSD or Solaris/illumos, since ZFS gets native treatment there.
>>
>>107557203
this is literally solved by package managers
such a non issue, distributing binaries is a worse way of doing things anyway. And if you do want to distribute binaries just compile static with musl, the linux ABI is stable
>>
>>107557029
Literally no one does that from what I know. It's **technically** possible. Just like it's possible to use musl on BSD. But feasible? That's another question.

i posted this in /pcbg/ then realized i never see much windows tuning stuff here in /fwt/.

talking about RAM, i crapped out my opinion that 32GB is the new minimum, 64 or more better because you can do freaky things like increasing the system file cache, disabling kernel paging and also disable pagefile completely (you can look that last one up yourselves, its easy).

>do tune L2 and L3 caches regardless of how much RAM you have, Windows is always installed with with a generic setup for those.

remember kids - if you do it wrong you can break your system
---------------------
Disable kernel paging - does what it says on the tin. If system is low on RAM - don't do this

Why is it so hard to find information about vape mods that have swappable batteries and why does it seem like companies don't want to make vapes whose battery you can change like an 18650 or 21700?
>>
>>107557199
Because the wider market (normies) want small disposable things.
>>
>>107557085
>>107549784
Maybe in ecigs (nic), but in erigs (thc) there is 100% vaporization happening.

>18650 or 21700?
If it does both, then great, but ignore 21700. Isn't exactly a 'common standard'. That'd be 26650's.

Where are you looking for information about said 'mods'? I find the manufacturer to be a reliable source.

Tell me more about touching the engine of an already existing game. I know a guy who "took over" engine of an existing game. Or should we call it "he made an engine editor where he can load game's assets and roam around with freecam." But it was confusing for me. I mean the 3d world of the game looked identical. 1:1. So, it made me question this: what gives a video game its unique look? Its assets or its engine? Hmm..
