We didn't know how good we had it with SATA SSDs. M.2/NVME is cheap shit that scales poorly and is inconvenient to access.
>>107553965>have a bunch of SATA connectors>NNOOOO YOU HAVE TO BUY NVME DRIVES INSTEADLook, most of the time 600Mbps is good enough.I mean, it doesn't even make a difference on the OS drive for boot times and shit. Most programs make no difference.
Nvme is pretty solid for large transfers
>>107556439You made me realise my fundamental problem with NVME.The amount of space it takes up compared to a simple SATA port. It could be fixed by installing them vertically on boards, but that still leaves them sticking out like expansion cards.SATA is pretty good in terms of IO breakout flexibility, power delivered externally too.The concept of the storage is kinda shit at a base level, only the bandwidth really redeems it. Add in the reality of the form factor and it's trash. Ironically SATA never had to conform to something like 2.5", 3.5" etc, it was just a connector, how they housed stuff was up to manufacturers. We still could have had memory sticks you plug in via cable, attached to motherboard in a different way. There's still time to stop before we end up with IDE cables again. It's not too late.
>>107558480>SATA is pretty good in terms of IO breakout flexibility, power delivered externally too. Bro, SATA is shit-tier for all of these items because of all backwards legacy crap. NVMe is far superior to all of those aspects. You are confusing NVMe with M.2 port.
Why has storage advancement been so shit for the last decade or so? We're now at the point where 2tb is expensive but affordable for mid level NVME but the price has only come down a small bit. Meanwhile HDDs come with larger capacities but only at the higher price points.

>>107558191Terry A. Davis was murdered by a social system that was incapable of providing help to a genuinely ill individual, combined with internet retards feeding his delusion (/g/ was mostly alright but /pol/ treated him like a monkey in a zoo that they would assemble to hear him yell the nigger word and egg him on)I believe the CIA is responsible for a lot of things but ultimately he survived a very long time as a homeless schizo living in his car. If the glowies really wanted him gone asap they had months of opportunities where "lone schizo dies under mysterious circumstances" would have been both plausible, and easily done off the record since he would drop off the map occasionally when not regularly streaming.
Why won't the RAM companies just make more RAM to meet the demand?

Are there some good (perferably written) guides for REW and calibration speakers for casualish music listening? Built-in help is a bit much.
>>107557148>Is it really not about quality? I thought that was the whole point.Lossless is about quality, but it’s overkill. Even if you can tell lossy from lossless in a test, the moment some random thought pops into your head, your focus on the differences is gone and it doesn’t really matter anymore. Compressed formats at a decent bitrate sound great. Lossless is more about peace of mind and just why not.
