I'm a sales guy at my company, and our tech team usually takes months to ship features. So earlier this week I tried this little fucker here, and holy fuck I had the new feature my client has been asking for since months running in an hour.I immediately showed the customer a demo, and with them being very satisfied asked my boss how the fuck this is possible and why we're paying tech guys so much money for not doing anything. Apparently several senior devs are going to have a "townhall" tomorrow, if you catch my drift. Meanwhile my bonus package for the month looks pretty good.Fuck you arrogant """""engineer""""" shitheads, it's always been THIS fucking easy and you were just lazy and arrogant. Get ready to get out of your fat greasy autistic comfort zone, it's time to get a real job.
>>108503345you should get a job, instead of writing these weird fanfics on 4chinks.
Why is software engineering the only job in the world where everyone who isn't a software engineer, automatically assumes everyone who is, is never working and just slacks off all day long?

>>108503855They think coding is magical powers that coders gatekeep. This is why they're so resentful and get way overexcited every time one does something they previously regarded as in the realm of wizardy, like setting up a wordpress website. This breaks the illusion that it's all magic, and they get overexcited, making grand claims like "X industry is over!" and "anyone can do it!".It's annoying af, and the only reason it happens is because of their retarded compartmentalization of tech things as "magic".

>>108500613>Isn't $HOME for "data holding"?He probably means a partition for pretty much other things like your shitposting pictures, audio and video files, games, documents, etc. It's what I do. I make a smaller partition for where all the OS and essential files sit and then a separate partition for the rest. It's easier when you want to nuke the OS partition and don't want to have to worry about moving all your other files somewhere else first.

I may be late to the party on this but my alphoomer nephew just showed me a locked thread of the Scratch Director of Technology losing his cool at 10 year olds and and being moderated by his own moderation team due to his "impolite" remarks while arguing over TOS changes that trains AI on user projects and adds an AI assistant. I guess not all gen alphababies got oneshotted by LLMs. Where's his PR guy to tell him a grown man throwing redditisms like "ad hominem" and "false narrative" at users he acknowledges in the same thread are statistically 80% under the age of 12 comes across incredibly retarded and tactless?

>As new artificial intelligence technologies proliferate through society, it is becoming more important than ever for young people to develop the most human of their abilities – their creativity, curiosity, and empathy – so that they can deal creatively, thoughtfully, and collectively with the challenges of a fast-changing world. We are now developing a new generation of Scratch, called Scratch 4.0, that integrates generative AI into the Scratch platform in ways that will support (not replace) young people’s creativity.

>>108500472Caps may go bad in a decade. Anything made of rubber, like belts. Then lubrication may not be as good after that much time. Not sure about lazor itself. Do they go bad over time or because of heavy use?
>>108502635>Do they go bad over time or because of heavy use?I would imagine so? Especially if it's blue, anything blue is higher power therefore more strain.
>>108502635Correct, you got to renew the lubrication once in a while, usually with lithium. It's imperative to remove the old grease beforehand though. >>108502800I would imagine so? Especially if it's blue, anything blue is higher power therefore more strain.Blu ray's use an even higher power violet laser! That being said, the lifespan is usually not much of a concern. I have been operating some diode lasers for more than 20000h in CNC setups. It's always best to check Nichia's doc on the diode in question. Diodes will eventually die, but the strain on the very cheap SMD components is usually much more of a concern. People will try to tinker with the potentiometer of the laser and may revive a "broken laser" temporarily while the root cause of the fault is usually a somewhere on the PCB. The drive will fail within a few weeks.

> ECS is overkillI know where you're coming from, and I also consider the same when we're talking about, Unity for example. But when we're talking about any ECS based engines in general, they can actually be helpful in more ways than just their core functionality. Bevy for example, includes full featured finite state machines functionality integrated seamlessly with its systems, which makes it very comfy to express tightly sequenced scenarios in something that would otherwise be expected to make it harder.
>>108505323>Bevy for example, includes full featured finite state machines functionality integrated seamlessly with its systemsLiterally nothing to do with ECS
