how about you just solve a problem. the rest will fall into place
>i want to learn AWS
and probably you'll learn this is unnecessary
>>
i'll consnerd that you wont necessarily learn low level systems program while solving said problem
but maybe you will if your problem could be particularly helped with it

>how about you just solve a problem
because this is vague and useless advice for someone (me) completely fresh.

i don't even know the type of problems that exist that people solve. I need to first immerse myself into this world, see what problems people solve, and then try to apply that to my own life.

this immersion is learning I just need to learn everything and then I will be able to look at the world and immediately spot areas that could use the technology I learned about

It's pretty odd that moot didn't add webp support along with webm. If he was so cucked by Google at the time he should have added both, and it likely would have kicked off a larger adaptation of the format. Prior to that, literally not even 1 single person used webm besides its developers, and I'm sure even they would prefer mp4 due to wider support.

I would have preferred apng though.
>>
>>107893032
Webp decoding performance has been poor until recently. It didn't help that google's anemic quality control caused dozens of security vulnerabilities to be found. They've been fixed but the PR damage has been disastrous to say the least. APNG while good in theory is a decoding disaster since it treats every frame as a separate image.

#define __NR_rt_sigprocmask        14

https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man2/sigprocmask.2.html

today's thread is again mostly a continuation of the previous thread's discussion. we will focus on linux signals in general. from the manpage, these two excerpts are what i feel is the most interesting:
>It is not possible to block SIGKILL or SIGSTOP. Attempts to do so are silently ignored.
this one makes sense if you understand the reasoning behind it, but i have seen many questions on this in the past. definitely a topic worth discussing
>Each of the threads in a process has its own signal mask.
this is useful because it is powerful, but it is also really annoying in its complexity, lol
i guess honorable mention to the note about undefined behavior, as well

I mean it's the least they can do, data loss should always be treated as the worst thing, especially on normies, that don't do backups. Money can't bring back your childhood photos.

Had similar experiences. Had the Apple Store replace laptop keyboards, battery , harddrives, motherboards etc. all completely for free. Macs also hold their value really well. It's an investment and for some people, it's worth it.
>>
>>107889917
Note that you only get this service if you continuously pay for Apple Care, so he already paid $200/yr for 8 years ($1600 total) for the 1/10000 chance to maybe get his laptop replaced (with all data lost) if an incompetent repair tech destroys it.

if you live near a herman miller showroom or something i recommend going, then just buy it used. if you are anywhere close to average height and weight (especially height) there should be some good chairs for you

It's an S+ tier in brand recognition only. Italians do it just as well for a quarter of the price. Whoever says "don't be poor" needs an economics class.

I found one of these kids first computer keyboards with the dongle, and I thought it was probably one of the best mini keyboard/touchpad combos I've ever used since it had real keys. This is the Kano (?) keyboard.
I wish there were more keyboards like this one, but luckily it's just a generic USB peripheral and it will work with just about anything.
