When ever you open your phone it sends low burst radio signal that can be read over 100 meters.https://x.com/c10ned/status/1908305530038141290https://x.com/c10ned/status/1908305530038141290Any anons know why this is case? What's use case of sending such signal moment you turn phone on/login?
>>107858137>Your phone is always on and traceable, even if it's offThis is most likely false. You can build a lectenna very easily. It's just an LED and the right sort of diode wired in parallel, with the legs spread apart. The long stick formed by the legs acts as an antenna that picks up enough power from a nearby phone's signal to blink the LED whenever the phone transmits. It's something the phone can't bypass since it's just picking up the transmitted signal itself and running off that.

how do i actually engineer a game on paper before any coding is done so that when it comes time to actually build/construct the game, no room is left for iteration, creativity, or trial-and-error?in other words how do i calculate design constraint like:Mechanic A requires X amount of resource AB and so on until the entire project is accurately and soundly mapped out in documentation?is chatgpt correct: https://chatgpt.com/s/t_696767337c588191b693b11790819ce2or is it hellucinating?full chat: https://chatgpt.com/share/69676758-d944-8003-a3d4-835e33b4e372i'm trying to learnmax
>>107858607Clone existing game 1:1, or if possible make a playable paper prototype. Otherwise it's not likely to make a working design just from written docs first try.
>>107858607Architecture is always the hardest part in a software project. The actual coding part is just a fraction of the effort.>no room is left for iterationNot going to make it.
how often do you clean your keyboard?
>>107858554ok you too. I just cleaned my keyboard (that I use with my laptop) a couple of days ago and it feels great. It had been a while, and I didn't notice it was kinda greasy.
Since mechanical keyboard autism became a ""hobby"" of mine it has become a once a month thing. Brushing the keycaps clean with a horsehair brush is every day or two, disassembly to clean off the plate is once a month, scrubbing the keycaps to look good as new is maybe once per two months. I rotate my 5 keyboards so they don't get dirty as fast.

what is the point of these keys? remove them
keyboards need to go through a total makeover to be honest. It would effectively require a new operating system to become popular for it to ever happen, though. Maybe mac could try it, lmao.

What is better: a 14" or a 16" MacBook Pro? I can't decide. It's unironically too difficult to decide. On one hand, I would prefer the larger display, on the other hand I use my laptop exclusively when I can't use my PC to do something, which means I need a laptop for use around the house and carry it outside first and foremost. I absolutely do not want to use an external monitor almost ever though.
>>107858375It doesn't matter. Especially if you learn your keyboard shortcuts and get an external display. In a situation like that, 90% of the time you'll be using the external monitor and you'll have as much space as you want, and for the rest of that 10% you'll be able to navigate the system so well you won't really need to use your mouse much at all, and won't need to keep as many onscreen elements visible at all times. So in the context of desktop-type OSes, screen real estate is irrelevant. Get a 16" if you want longer battery life and get a 14" if you plan to take it everywhere you go and you want the extra portability. I recommend 16".

Zoomer here. I heard from my teacher today that phones used to have a slot like the sim card one where you could put in those digital camera memory sd cards in it. Why did no one complain when this happened?
>>107849362>I tried to buy a replacement, but every "new" battery I found was almost a decade old and they all as useless as the original one or worse after being stored for so longFor popular devices, you can easily find a chinaman who's happy to tell you a new battery rated for more capacity than the original battery. But when you get it you notice it's suspiciously lightweight, unwrap it and find a much smaller lower capacity cell with some bits of plastic or foam around it to pad it out to the required size.
>>107851697Good for you. Sony doesn't sell phones in my country anymore.
>>107853757Same and it's not even 3 years old yet, with an OLED screen, NFC, under screen fingerprint reader, quality camera, etc. Granted, swapping the battery does require opening the phone but it uses tabs and I can order a genuine new battery straight from the manufacturer.

I figure some early failed experiment at user engagement. Everybody had instagram already anyway so the facebook app just became fucking annoying and I deleted it
