lol it's true. I don't know where this meme came from that c was a "hack" thrown together like php or javascript. It was a serious language designed and used a serious research institute for the implementation of the most successful operating system. Even windows NT whose designer famously hated unix chose to use c.

It gets mentioned from time to time. And I punctually forget about it afterwards. I suppose it might have something going for it because of a combination of relatively loose censorship and prompt understanding?

I don't even see the point of releasing a locked down, closed source, censored model if it's not head and shoulders above the free, uncensored, open source stuff. At this point, the competition is so fierce, you need to release something truly groundbreaking to even get anyone to notice.

>On May 16, 2024, Llama Group announced that Winamp would be going partially open source on September 24, 2024. The source code was released in a GitHub repository under the "Winamp Collaborative License", a license restricting the ability to create forks or distribute modified binaries (which is not considered free or open source) and requires waiving ownership of contributions to Llama Group.

>After the source code was released, multiple pieces of proprietary source code were found: the entirety of the SHOUTcast server software, as well as code from Microsoft, Dolby and Intel. After The Register contacted the Llama Group about the code on October 15, 2024, the GitHub repository was deleted.

Ok bros, that's it. It's probably nothing, but I'm getting too spooked, especially since I can't afford to replace any drives right now. See you in a couple weeks. Hopefully this stuff will be fixed by then.
Well, actually I'll just post from Mint if I need to. I'm gonna miss Halo Infinite and Battlefront 2 and all my rpg maker games (Which are installed on the Windows drive), but I'll tough it out. Most rpg maker games can run fine on linux anyway, so I'll just move some saves over, and I also have Halo MCC and War Thunder installed on the linux drive so I can hold out for a bit.

How this bar look? can it be placed at the top?

It's not just phoneposters. Inevitably, as something gets more popular for absolutely any reason, average IQ of a group approaches closer to population average.
The trend for average programmer IQ is as follows: in the 90-s it was above 120. Before 2015 it was already below 120. And in the year of 2025, financial incentive has dropped average IQ of a programmer to 105. As industry has turned hopelessly hypersocial, it will only get worse.
You are arguing with literal midwits here, reading their 105 opinions, losing braincells.
Avoid using any new "technology" unless you are looking for exploits, hacker golden age hasn't even began.
Rolling release distros, MacOs, Windows are all a 105 technology brought to you by Reddit.
Rust and Go are coping mechanisms with 105 special needs, just like rounded corners on a smartphone that prevent retards from killing themselves accidentally when they answer a phone call.
There is no way of fixing it without active intervention, raise in IQ with access to a smartphone actually concerns the bottomless pit of total retards, you have to reason about a smartphone as a diabolical box which shows you shiny things and you can somehow change the things inside it by just touching the box. This requires abstract reasoning, so the population average gets a bit higher.
It's over, leave tech communities if you value last bits of intelligence you don't have completely fried by politics and objectively retarded arguments, and just use rss feeds at this point and read some retarded 120 iq papers which walk back and forth around a solution and produce massive piles of text, this might cheer you up.

its easy to have 100% accurate predictive power, even if one is a retard
the trick is to be the one who causes the predicted events

i heard something about klaus schwab falling victim to an internal coup,
that hes been removed from the head of the WEF
'doesn t really matter
hes not the only globalist, nor is his gang the only group that vies for power

dont underestimate them
while were busy fighting eachother, many people work in the shadows
even the linux foundation works on projects like automation of agriculture

in short, shits fucked

Is solar energy worth it?

Seems like a huge fucking scam.

If it really does generate energy and you can cover your house in solar panel and disconnect from the grid and save yourself $100+ a month, everybody would be doing it and getting returns on investments 1 year later.

What do you think?
1 reply omitted. Click here to view.
>>
it's a total scam but if you live in a state where you can plaster your rood in them and have free energy because of the retarded subsidies they are given you're stupid not to do it
>>
>>106468253
The energy providers here in Australia are complaining because solar produces too much energy that's being forced back into the grid. This dude just wants kickbacks from coal mining companies.
>>
>>106468253
If you can get good subsidies it's definitely worth it. But for a country/society it's currently only worth it if you actually use the panels for most of their rated life. But what happens in practice is that the panels get replaced or removed (and almost always end up in landfills) before they actually pay off financially or environmentally.
>>
Solar obviously isn't a scam. However this depends on where you live HEAVILY. Not just regarding the weather, but also even more importantly regarding all your local laws, how your power company handles off distributing electricity, and the subsides. Then there's stuff like your roof condition, how long you plan to live in your house, if you ever plan to do any kind of renovation for your house, what kind of energy do you actually use for heating your home...

There's a lot to take into account.

main thing you're probably going to miss out on is dimmability (for the E27 bulb) and CRI (basically everything on Aliexpress)
>>

>>106468047
>dimmability (for the E27 bulb)
Yeah I'm aware, the led strips are dimmable (since they are smart/zigbee compatible), the bulb isn't. That lamp isn't meant to be mood lighting though, it's supposed to go on my desk, the left side of it I have a lightbar for, but the right is too dark. Doubt I need dimmability for that, but to be fair I have little idea if 9W is good or too bright or not bright enough.
>and CRI
I wonder if that matters to me, I suppose time will tell. Will post in the review when it arrives (by eye though I have no idea how to quantify cri)

Most components of a controller cost pennies, I'd imagine the battery is the bulk of the cost.
It looks kind of crazy (and for the consumer, blessed) relative to first party, but consider also how wild Microsoft's profit margins must be selling a $65 controller with no included batteries that also have less internal tech than $20-30 chinkshit.
