Yes, make sure to help flood the skilled labor market with lots of offers. We totally haven't just finished saturating the one for coding jobs so we can lower everyone's pay, please do the same for back-breaking labor. It will be different this time, promise. Surely, you want to be big, bold manly man with a wrench, right? What are you waiting for? It's so simple! GET A YACHT, BE RICH! My uncle does it and he's turning town multi-billion dollar clients asking for plumbing! And he spends all his time laughing at college kids!

Every single year AI companies are spending hundreds of billions of dollars making barely any revenue in return.

When will AI turn a profit?

How do you lose $143B of tax payers' dollars in just a couple of years?

The second the context limitations (1 mil or thereabouts) are solved for local models the bubble will pop and stay popped.
That's literally the only thing i've seen the big models do that the shit you can run on a shitbox can't. (even then only like 2-3 of the big ones)

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2025/12/uk-to-encourage-apple-and-google-to-put-nudity-blocking-systems-on-phones/

>The UK government reportedly will “encourage” Apple and Google to prevent phones from displaying nude images except when users verify that they are adults.

>The forthcoming push for nudity-blocking systems was reported by the Financial Times today. The report said the UK won’t institute a legal requirement “for now.” But asking companies to block nude images could be the first step toward making it mandatory if the government doesn’t get what it wants.

>The Home Office “has initially focused on mobile devices,” but the push could be expanded to desktops, the FT said. Government officials point out that Microsoft can already scan for “inappropriate content” in Microsoft Teams, the report said.

Exactly, they are coping what GPU and motherboard manufacturers did back with C19. They artificially inducing a new round of "price discovery". They are attempting to make UDIMMs sell almost as much as they normally sell for RDIMM/LRDIMMs. They are hoping whales will keep eating up and masses will accept the new price points as the new normal.

Governments can become insolvent you dipshit (many past historical examples). It is already happening with USA. Vast portions of its domestic infrastructure is falling apart at the expense of social liabilities and chasing boondoggles that only serve to enrich private interest (kleptocracy).
It is only held-up by other nations buying our bonds and using USD for global trade. The problem is that petrodollar agreement had expired with no renewal. Every major power outside of NATO is doing everything to move away from the petrodollar. Once nations stop buying bonds and demanding payment on existing bonds. Hyperinflation and full insolvency is inevitable.

Not a military watchdog or anything but if China is planning to forcefully reunify with Taiwan by 2027 census, why aren't we panic buying every last bit of silicon?

What do you think is actually happening? USA is trying to pull-out every piece of silicon and try to replicate the infrastructure domestically. Unfortunately, it is far too late for the latter.

The US is doing nothing, the writing is on the wall and the most they've done about it is trying to make chips in America.
The matter is if China can force reunification with Taiwan, but they're gearing up to trying by the end of the decade.

i didnt mind working there, my supervisor was a bit of a twit and my fellow programmer was a giant retard but that, i could deal with. i only really left because they kept asking me to pick up more tasks while also offering my 150 euro above min wage, which is pretty fucking low for doing front-end, back-end and design as well as asking more insane shit far outside of my position and skill set like making animations, online games and marketing

now days it doesn't matter.
>>
>>107567113
In the very early days, TV was matched to line frequency for performance reasons. It was not actually a hard requirement. And as electronics got better this synchronization became less important. When color game out, TV was uncoupled from line rate. Also, Japan TV broadcast apparently started in 1953, so it totally skipped the early TV era where synchronization mattered.
>>
for the life of me I can't understand the difference between wattage, voltage or amperage, how they relate and what they're used for. most explanations are surface level babyshit and I don't get it because I don't see the bigger picture.
I somehow got a job in electrical infrastructure but I don't know shit!
>>
>>107567943
Voltage is like the diameter of a pipe, amperage is the amount of water flowing through it, and wattage is if you take that diameter and multiply it by the amount of water flowing through it.
>>
>>107567964
no, voltage is like pressure. and wattage is just wattage (water flowing through a pipe also uses energy). admittance would be the cross-sectional area of the pipe. this is why adding another branch in parallel always increases current flow even if the new branch has one gorillion resistance, because you still added more pipe area.

I genuinely haven't had it crash on me in the past 2 years (both AMD and NVIDIA during that time). Sadly i think its because they allow way too much customization and all the retards and indians stray too far from the more robust/tested stock settings.

Bugs and crashes happen, which is why it became a meme, but it's not as bad as people make it seem in here.

The general consensus is that KDE is great, good for new users, with many options and customization possibilities, but it is not stable, without bugs and crashes, and is much less modular than simpler options.

I moved to Japan/Tokyo area, and I'm looking for a good hifi tube setup.
I want a turntable and a good disk player that can play hi fidelity formats.
So far the only Japanese brands I'm settled on are an Audiotechnica turntable but I am clueless on tube amps and receivers.

>>107568333
Well I do, I wanted a /g/ opinion. Also most of the people I with aren't audiophiles, which is ironic because I'm a sonar analyst.
Its also super overwhelming, I went to electric city in Akiharaba and it just not the place to be unless you know your shit.
So far the only tube amps made in Japan I know are Luxman and SunAudio. I'm also looking for something used/vintage.
I have stack of magic eye sound level tubes and I've been getting into tube eletronics lately, I'm bulding a magic eye tube sound level bar that looks really nice.
