Linux and FOSS are actually mostly used by political right and countries that do not follow or care about your tiny woke bubble where you cry about how "Linux is woke".

>the Linux kernel or FOSS software itself does not enforce a CoC in its code, only in its community processes (like mailing lists)
>you can create your own forks with your own community processes (like mailing lists) to enforce your own CoC or not have it (and it is equal to that original, not less important)
>you can compile, modify, and distribute any version of the kernel without ever agreeing to a CoC
>GPL gives you the legal right to fork Linux, remove what you don't like, and redistribute it, no permission needed
>China, a one-party authoritarian state, uses Linux extensively without adopting Western social values
>North Korea runs a Linux-based OS in total isolation from global “woke” culture
>Russia, Iran, and others do the same

If these regimes can use Linux while rejecting Western liberalism, so can you. You don't need permission to run Linux. You just need to compile it.

Your complaint about C is really about pointers. Null terminated strings are irrelevant and did not need be mentioned. Your argument would have applied just the same if C had used pascal strings, or even had a proper string object.

Python, JavaScript, PHP, Swift, Rust, and Emacs Lisp each have different ideas about what a string is. No two are the same. Could you support all of them on the same hardware?

For what it's worth, whenever one of these bots does something, I hold it's parent company (openai, anthropic, google, etc) 100% responsible. Sort of like they're employees of the company that owns them even though they aren't people and thus can't be employees (or slaves). You can't really blame a specific bot because it's impossible to tell where one bot ends and another begins.

I am regularly amazed that we pretend folders are the right way to organise files. They’re entirely arbitrary. Every competent file system ignores them to its best ability. Why can’t I have a file in two folders? Why does one have to be a “reference”? Why can’t I filter for files that exist in 3 folders with X extension?

We’ve been played for absolute fools.

I have heard this elsewhere and also that people new to computers grasp tagging easier. I have tried to find programs that let you tag files on Windows to try it out, but they have all been buggy. My only experience is with photo management tools that I don't use often.
>>
>>107683328
Why would they? The clock face with pointers rotating around a spindle is a UI imposed by long since obsolete technical limitations.
>>
>>107683346
>people new to computers grasp tagging easier
I think it's actually whichever you're first exposed to first is what you're better at handling. Boomers only had filing cabinets so computer files were a natural extension of that. Zoomers have boorus that tag everything and their retarded mobile OS's try everything to hide the traditional HFS so of course they never learn it.

That explains it then. For some reason the drive I tried to install another OS on doesn't show up in UEFI/BIOS, but only in Windows. The bootable drive is only ~238 GB which is a pain to work with, no dual booting I guess.

the sheer mass of absolute crap produced with that far outweighs the good. the "good" is an extreme outlier. the people that provide actual benefit with it would do so regardless of its existence, with pencil and paper if need be. maybe there's a whole bunch of actuaries whose entire career is based on some vba macro written by "the geek", and those guys progress into senior leadership. while the geek's desk is in the basement. some shit like that

That's a good deal if the screen doesn't have massive scratches or anything. Try see how worn the tube is. For 120 I would go for it, maybe try offer 107.

>The redditors buy them for 800. Luckily most of them are mainly after their shitty 480p TVs and for their heckin retrorino gaming or whatever.
yeah most of the pvm trannies are getting priced out because their shitty destroyed tubes are selling at 800-1200 depending on size of the pvm, so they are now just buying $300+ 19-27 inch sony trintitroons that get absolutely 0 use because it's some new wave retro fad from cringetok.
I use to check ebay but the shipping price is usually $200-500, so it's just so over for me on anything high end. I'm west coast too so all the chinks buy up everything in the cities and scalp all of it. I don't understand why someone would use newer content/hardware on CRTs when they specifically can't handle the signals without some hacky way. Wouldn't that shorten the lifespan of the monitor/TV because you are using some hacked way to get a picture which a CRT wouldn't normally handle? Especially considering a majority of content today is made with pixel perfect high resolution screens.
I only really use an Adapter when I'm playing older media on a new PC which doesn't have a VGA port. Other then that, I try my best to not use some type of hack to get scan-lines on screen or play a game with a smoother image.
