I'm a 39 year old boomer but I'm taking some college classes for better career opportunities, and most of my classmates are zoomers, largely straight out of high school. I've only seen one single Mac. The vast majority of people, myself included, have gaming laptops because our program involves a lot of CAD work so you need a decent GPU, and Lenovo seems to be the dominant choice.

Not a single one of the excuses any of my teachers gave was true.
>but what if you get stranded on an island with no calculator
Nobody's gonna quiz me on an island, and even if I did need math for some reason I have all the time in the world to solve it.

I thought I sucked at math and hated it. Turns out I just hated being told to memorize tables with no real world application to me.
Once it shifted from memorization to actual logic, and calculators were finally allowed, my grades went from low to top of the class. And once I eventually needed math to solve things I actually cared about (shop class, resource management in vidya), I finally started to memorize those pesky tables too. Imagine that.

I legit don't know. Niggers can't read to begin with, and using the term "equation" would trigger their chimpout switch cause it's too complicated a word. That shit is not helping anyone.

No air cooling will always be more common. I can see single towers going away because the average cpu is hotter than what it was 10 years ago you have 150w cpus for cheap right now and unless it is big single tower it it struggles. A big single tower is less space and cooling efficient than double tower especially when you consider the offset double towers. Single tower are mostly kill at this point.
Can you beat phantom spirit/Phantom Spirit for 35usd/eur - no. The next step that is significant upgrade is twice the price but not twice the performance. Does arctic 360 mog even the most expensive double towers when you put something like 7950x/9950x - yes they actually boost higher clocks on more cores when there is sustained load. Does arctic 360 fit in almost any 100$ case - yes. You also do not need to do the one fan in one fan out like you do with the double tower when you put fans on top and mess with the airflow from the pass thru GPU that is common today. Modern AIOs are better than the air cooling when it comes to performance but unless you go for the top processor you can get away with a double tower for 35$, the performance is unbeatable, they will never go away.
>>
>>107869298
Water cooling is like adding a second step to your cooling. What is cooling the water? Fans.

Just use fans without the water.

Don't buy anything other than IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™
Other business laptops are welcome in /tpg/ (Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook)

Why ThinkPad?
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap
>Utilitarian design: e.g. mix of old and new ports, stable keyboard layout
>Easy to repair, upgrade (some models) & maintain thanks to readily available service manuals, spare parts easy to obtain
>Usable in cramped quarters thanks to the TrackPoint
>Excellent Linux & *BSD support

That's a fair price I think.

KDE can do touch/pen input and screen rotation now I think. Kubuntu and call it a day. Debian is usually fine too with testing or Sid repos. If you hate yourself and wear programming socks go ahead and install Arch.

do you guys think trackers have a good incentive to leech? i feel like this is especially true for movie trackers because there are so many of them but a lot of torrents have more cross-seeder than genuine leecher seeding what they wanted to download. obviously cross-seeding is good for everyone but i feel like on a lot of trackers getting genuine upload is kind of hard. don‘t ask me what kind of system they should implement though i‘m just here to ask the question. but shouldn‘t trackers try compensating the low user count more by incentivizing leeching?
>>
>>107882289
Spotify has this feature where you can seamlessly switch between devices listening to music and even control the playback from another device while listening to it.
>>
>>107883963
>but shouldn‘t trackers try compensating the low user count more by incentivizing leeching?
What would be the benefit of doing that?
To put it in another way: Why is a low amount of leeching bad for the tracker?
>>
>>107884093
well, low leech = low upload for seeders and thus less buffer to download more

>Looked up what suits and those head things cost just out of curiosity and it's like $5k for a basic furry head. Full suits are like $30k.

How much does it cost to produce a full suit and how much time does it take?
>>
>>107883620
I put in anywhere between $1500 to $3500 in materials depending on the quality, complexity and how tech-heavy it is.
A basic suit is just like a halloween costume essentially, but a full build can have everything from built in fans, water supply (a bladder system), motorised eyes/mouth/ears, speakers, sound effects etc.
Time wise it's anything from a couple weeks for the most basic to 3-4 months for the serious ones. And price matches that. The most expensive one I made and sold went for $11 800 plus shipping.
But pricing depends on the creator. Everyone has their own sources for materials and so on.

And I often have 2-3 suits in the making at the same time since a lot of the basic crafting is the same.
>>
>>107883821
>>107880170
$11800-3500 (materials) = $8300 profit
$8300/(5 days per week x 4 weeks per month x 3 months to make = 60 days) = $138.34 per day, roughly
$138.34/8hrs per day = $17.30 per hour, roughly.
>I make more money on a single fursuit than I made working my old office job 8-10 hours per day for a month.
$8300 profit from above/20 work days a month = $415 per day
$415/8 hours = $51.88 per hour.
I would have stayed with the office.
