I have 64 GB of DDR4. What real world difference would DDR5 give me apart from higher numbers in my benchmarks and lower numbers in my bank account?
>>
Anyone with DDR5 able to run the following in node?
const { performance } = require('perf_hooks');

function testRamSpeed(sizeInMB = 1024) {
const size = sizeInMB * 1024 * 1024;

// Allocate two large buffers in RAM
const source = Buffer.allocUnsafe(size);
const target = Buffer.allocUnsafe(size);

// Warm up the memory (ensures pages are mapped)
source.fill(1);
target.fill(0);

const start = performance.now();

me too. if it has cute girls (like the jack of all trades, cute girl in the heroes party, roll over) I'm watching them!
>>
>>107849567
>roll over
I enjoyed e1, haven't checked out the other two. Do they look like they're off to a good start? I might wait for some reviews to roll in, I don't want to start too many week one
>>
>>107849581
the other two is of lower quality than roll over. The jack of all is your typical "op" mc story, where others don't recognize his true strength, because he does things differently. Gets banished from the hero's party because he is "too weak", then goes solo. Meets up with the red girls, and they carry the newbies down to the 53rd floor of a dungeon in ep02. The MC here seems more adult than in other isekais. I'll be watching it

The confessed one is again, MC is the OP type, but in service of the demon king. The heroes party comes each day, trying to defeat him, but can't. Dude falls in love with the mage, and decides to not kill the party, just delay them. One day he makes a deal that if they leave the girl to him, he will let the party through. They take that deal, he confesses, the girl rejects (because he is in the service of the demon king), but arrives at the conclusion, that if he stops being a demon lord henchmen, then that could work. So he tries to become a normal adventurer to win the girl over. There is also some power struggle between human nations foreshadowed with the demon king gone.

My ranking would be roll over > jack of all > confessed
+1 for yuusha no kuzu. It's like modern day isekai. You have the yakuza type gangs (demon king and their underlings) and the ones who hunt for them (the heroes).

I'm afraid it's simply an intellectual issue if you can't grasp how Minecraft for example (where the world data is a 3d array and the smallest unit of the level geometry is represented by a single integer value at a position in that array) is a voxel engine

I just got messaged by a recruiter for a database developer job that I applied to months ago, the problem is I was using AI for my resume/cover letter and I’m pretty sure I exaggerated my skill level. Now that I’m looking at the job description I realize that I’m pretty out of my depth for this position, and the only experience I have in web development. Should I even bother taking this interview if I know I’m probably gonna bomb the technical round?

Is shader code really that precious so we need all that shit? Can't developers (especially game developers) just distribute their shader in the form of source code that would be compiled for the end user GPU when he installs software/game?
>>
>>107849578
How is it different from any other kind of code? Not everyone wants to share the secret sauce for their game's graphical effects.
>>
>>107849591
Well, available source for games could cause direct damage for example in multiplayer games where cheat devs could use sources to design more sophisticated cheats or analyze client-server interaction code to find holes and attack game server directly. But what damage could graphical effects code cause?
And a lot of games have most of their game logic in scripting language formats that are human-readable where binary game engine only implements some low level operations that don't have much of a value most of the times.

Bubble's popping in 2028, there's a bunch of stuff coinciding on 2028 like with the election, new manufacturing coming online, new GPU generations and more powerful GPUs in a larger amount of people's hands for local gen.

Basically if there's a scalping-type bottleneck then that's a goldrush for others to take advantage of but they need 4 years to catch up.
>>
>>107849596
Also I should be more specific - China's manufacturing is the reason the bubble will pop + democrat regulations.

>(Also I'm a dumbass I didn't need to math it, I thought the 2021 was the DATE, not the cycle count).
*I'm a bigger dumbass because I mixed up the cycle count with hours.
Also I am too tired to realize if these numbers make any sense.
Someone else can probably correct me at what it means.
Because my brain says to just multiply by 8 because cycle = 8 hours, so you spent 11 hours, but that must be wrong...
Someone correct me.
>>
>>107849507
OH 2020 was 6 years ago, I was using 4 years because I remember the m1 came out at the second half of the year or something.
And a heavy workload like video editing will reduce the charge to 2 hours or something.
So the usage is very normal (like 4 hours a day~), but... the cycle shouldn't be affected while being charged...
>>
>>107814412
If you move to it from linux then it's similar levels of suck, slightly worse in some ways, slightly better in others.
If you move from windows it's a big downgrade.
I've had 2 attempts in my life to use that shit and ended up selling my macs, the last one was 2 years ago.

There's many issues to talk about, but some I remember as really annoying are:
1. Full screen doesn't exist, when you fullscreen something it creates another virtual desktop and moves the app to it. This is beyond dumb, and slow as hell when you want to alt tab constantly between something that is fullscreened and something that isn't because you are moving virtual desktops.
2. The file manager is worthless, it can't even align files on its own, if you right click inbetween 4 files to create a folder then it will literally create it there overlapping them, you can rearrange it later with an option, but it's so stupid. it has other problems as well that you can only understand after experiencing the shit yourself.
3. It does bs color grading, when you play a video with mpv it will look off, downloading color profiles that supposedly match the macos one don't truly fix the issue either, the colors will be off, I was only able to fix this by buying one of those garbage macos only video players that are missing most functionality you need. This doesn't even happen with youtube videos so idk wtf is going on with that OS.
4. Many small problems, interface designed for mobile users, it will be hard to find or disable so much dumb shit like mouse acceleration, it's a similar experience with linux and its garbage defaults.
5. If you think you can just emulate windows games then give up on the idea, it's more miss than hit, don't bet on anything working decently.
Overall if you don't do video or music editting I see no point to this OS.
>>
>>107849481
Also I'm wrong about the 300 cycle part.
apple's batteries keeps 80% charge at 1000 cycles.
So that matches up with your battery health perfectly.
(assuming that the health % is accurate, and not a number that is calculated purely from the cycle count, 80% of 80% is 64% so technically your battery is slightly better than expected?).

This simple idea of having 2 USB-C ports CANNOT be done because it stops the zoomer from buying wireless ear buds(battery inside will always go to shit and unusable in ~3 years)

and you would be stuck using extremely affordable, high quality audio headphones or in ear buds(that are a bit too green for the planet in 2026)

also the 3.5mm headphone jack looks like a penis that goes inside a hole and basically why aren't you a wireless, constantly charging gay trans in 2026 right now.

am i finally getting it /g?

>I'm physically attracted to unnecessarily overengineered hardware.

Look up the tray loading mechanism of high end laserdisc players that can do both A/B side reverse and have a separate CD tray. It's a byzantine labyrinth and you have like one master cog driving three or four things, from the tray loading to lifting the entire big ass transport rails driving the pickup.

normgroids lease their phones from their service provider, then return them in serviceable condition every other year to lease new phones
