I recently got hired and I sent out a out 200 applications in 3 or 4 months.
The place I got hired at asked me only about the projects I had done and didn't have a leetcode section. Every other place just asked extremely arbitrary leetcode questions and wouldn't so much as speak to you until you had solved 4 leetcode hards in 1 hour.
The lesson I have taken from this is that if a company doesn't talk to you until you solve their stupid riddles then they're probably a very bad company and just want to appear like they're hiring without hiring anyone.

Usually I post this in /dpt/

>try linux for the first time in 10 years
>put linux mint 22.2 on USB key with rufus
>boot
>open GUI software manager from the start menu
>write "steam" in the search bar, click on the install button
>error message
>try to uninstall a random software with "rightclick, uninstall" from the start menu (one of the libre office applications)
>another error message
I eventually got steam working by using a flatpak, and I uninstalled successfully the same libre office app after rebooting. But both failed my tests on the first attempt. I noticed a lot of improvements since I tried linux 10 years ago but it's sad that it still feels like beta software nonetheless. And linux mint is supposed to be the most polished non-technical oriented user-friendly distro.

I've been working on this problem and talking to people working on this problem for a decade now.

Here is what I've learned: If your primary innovation is anything other than a novel way to defeat spam and prevent abuse, your imageboard project will fail.

Now go waste your time ignoring my advice and learn the hard way.

Most of these stories are made up or exaggerated to make feds seem more powerful than they are and to keep people here, where real convos are derailed easily by indians posting ragebait. If you want a way out of this niggerhell, go to allchans and look for webring imageboards, you'll find deeper links there. The truth is much more mundane, smaller imageboards generally have older users that don't want newfags from post 2016 4chan and most of you won't leave because you're post rate addicts and don't care if the you comes from an indian.

Why hasn't AI content gotten the ad disclosure treatment? IE "This content is or contains AI created media" just like we have "Ad" ""Sponsored" etc. AI is 100x more dangerous without disclosure but we chillin. Pic Unrelated

It kind of did, though? YouTube announced something of the sort, at least in theory. Maybe they'll have to start mass banning people before creators actually check whatever disclosure box is included. And Steam shows a note on the store page saying which assets are AI generated in video games. Maybe there isn't enough enforcement in general, but there are some tendencies to force disclosure. And Google Gemini has SynthID or whatever it's called, that's inscribed into every image it generates and can be cross-checked to see if an image is AI generated.

we've been putting off moving somewhere else for ages but now might be the time. what's the /g/ approved choice for chat hub software a la discord (multiple text/image channels, voice chat, screen sharing)?

Very, I just had a similar conversation with another peer who I was assigned with in a software engineering class at ASU.

He claimed that he shouldn't have to rely on just his own skills anymore and can use Claude to offload like 90% of the effort.

I nearly had an aneurysm dealing with his sloppy bullshit when I was the one in charge of keeping the CI-CD pipeline functioning and not imploding on itself.

Thank god for Travis CI free tier credits...

You shouldn't use an LLM to implement anything that you can't implement yourself. And you need to write your own tests.
