>be me, living in eastern europe, 4 YOE>got a job at a TOP5 american company here>good pay and interesting work> FF a few months ago>eventually get moved into a new team to help build some shiny new stuff>people kinda suck>project is shit, quality is awful>the so-called top pay is now mediocre at bestI'm about to start my own journey (thinking of getting started on upwork), since work here is now boring and crap. My plan is to do this one the side, untill I can make enough money to avoid working for some ((company)).Or I could start preparing for interviews and apply for another 1 out 4 other companies.Thoughts?
my wife's family keeps asking me to fix their shitty chinese laptop. its some thomson pile of shit with an soc board duct taped to a battery. afaik they dont even exist anymore and getting drivers for it sucks, none of the linux distros i tried have audio working. i wish they could understand that this thing is garbage and i could just bring them 5 worthless laptops from america that are infinitely better, but they are intent on not throwing it away 'because it works'
it's over

Apple making a patched 18.7.3 version and then NOT offering it to those that haven't updated to iOS 26 yetvid downright criminal
This simple idea of having 2 USB-C ports CANNOT be done because it stops the zoomer from buying wireless ear buds(battery inside will always go to shit and unusable in ~3 years)and you would be stuck using extremely affordable, high quality audio headphones or in ear buds(that are a bit too green for the planet in 2026) also the 3.5mm headphone jack looks like a penis that goes inside a hole and basically why aren't you a wireless, constantly charging gay trans in 2026 right now.am i finally getting it /g?
FIIO BTR11 and a good set of chink IEMs will get you places.

>>107847023>>107847824Seconding this. My BTR1K has been working perfectly for 7 years now. You are also dodging the qcom tax as the btr11 has no aptx(but has ldac)

I have been converted. After going through so much bullshit to get Windows 11 configured the way I want it, I experimented with Linux Mint on an external hard drive and I have to say it’s been amazing. I think we have finally hit an inflection point where the effort to install, customize and use Linux Mint is now less than installing Windows 11 IoT LTSC and running the debloating scripts/reinstalling default apps, and it’s a better experience.Open source software has also matured to the point that I have found sufficient alternatives for ALL of my windows programs including Paint.NET with the recent Pinta update.Once I customize the look and feel of Cinnamon/Firefox a bit more I will probably be switching to Linux full time. After years of retarded bugs, obvious features not being implemented, dogshit communities, etc. I think Linux finally made it.
>>107848705>linux is unusable without themI barely use them. You're probably trying to do things in some retarded ass backwards way rather than learning how to actually use linux.Using a package manager is generally easier than the windows random .exe lottery, but it is different and requires re-learning the way you do things.
>>107849495flatpaks just ship the system libraries with them, retard. though then so do many windows software packages (which is why to run one .exe you need 200 .dlls)Any time you run an exe that doesn't ship with a bunch of dlls it's using system libraries just like on linux.
>>107848705flatpaks and AppImage are a godsend
>>107848705I only use flatpaks when I absolutely have to.And honestly, there are a few I'd get rid of if doing so weren't such a massive pain in the ass.
How's HDR and FSR 4 on Mint? I'd rather use Mint than CachyOS.
what did xhey / xhit mean?
>>107846712This already happens on linux and windows for me.
>>107849804In evolutionary terms, a "Pleasure Trap" occurs when the organism is exposed to "supernormal stimuli" (highly concentrated sources of pleasure) that did not exist during evolutionary development. For millions of years, calories and dopamine-spiking resources were scarce, evolution favored the>"Motivator Triad":Seek pleasure (food and sex). Avoid pain. Conserve energy. An ancestor who found a rare honeycomb would gorge on it because those calories were vital for survival. Today, we have engineered substances (processed sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, digital entertainment, drugs) that provide a dopamine hit far more intense than anything found in nature. Your brain cannot distinguish between a natural reward and a concentrated modern one. It treats the "supernormal stimulus" as a survival signal. Over time, the brain down-regulates its receptors to protect itself, meaning you need more of the substance just to feel "normal," leading to obesity or addiction.Apply the same principle to social interaction.
>>107849894Interesting! I suppose evolution essentially "locks in" a strategy that works for the present moment but because it cannot see far into the future it can easily create a dead end where the organism is too "successful" to innovate, making it prime for extinction if the environment changes significantly.
>>107849894>>107849906Our hardware (brains) is still running "software" designed for a world of scarcity and slow change while our current world is defined by hyper-abundance and rapid volatility.

If you want a tablet and also want to draw, should you get an iPad or a Samsung tablet?
>>107848066How is Firefox something new
>>107828973An iPad because you want to draw, every other use case you should get the Samsung.
it's actually hilarious how adverse g and ic are to ipads in general. I personally know an extremely talented artist who works for a game studio and works/knows tons of people in the industry. a huge majority of them use an ipad + procreate for at least the beginning stages of their sketches or artwork. they'll obviously do post work with different programs but it says enough that it's a comfortable medium for professionals and will serve the needs of 99% of the people who are not professionals which is essentially everyone on 4chan. you got nigs on IC that spend thousands on xppen gear and can barely draw a box in perspective
iPads seems to have a more streamlined software where everything is cohesive.Samsung's software is all over the place with 10 different fonts for the home screen. That being said Samsung ad blocker is the best I have ever seen. It even blocks ads on apps like YouTube and TikTok.
If you want to draw seriously just get a drawing tablet for pc, not having keyboard shortcuts will hinder youIf you just want to sketch occasionally it doesn't really matter what tablet you get

Are LLMs demonic technology or are its users too dumb & gullible to become psychotic due to them?
>>107840647>>107843254Does it have to be a girl?
>>107847508No. Loneliness is universal
being psychotic is actually based
>>107840586Extremely darksided technology.
I used LLM to psychoanalyze my own behaviors and I came to the conclusion I am a Narcissistic, psychopathic schizoid, and that's a good thing! It really explains a lot, basically with the kind of person I am in, even in actual therapy I was never being fully open. AI allows me to be fully open and reach the core in a way you cannot with humans, that is the power of LLM.
I'm literally stuck to windows 10 because I need two windows xp era tools for my work that don't have a modern alternative and crash under wine.
>>107845779virtualization anon
>>107845779Yeah I can help you make a local bin shortcut hat launches a Windows XP VM in seamless mode.First use msconfig to get your app to start up on XP then I need to figure out how to get virtual box Windows xp to start in seamless mode. The end result should be a desktop Icon running the wrapper to boot you app. You also need a shared folder between the VM but that's easy.

>>107843529The best teacher I ever had at uni (like 5 years ago) literally did not know what git was.He would teach graphics by explaining a scene graph, (loosely) what and how matrix math works and how it applies to vertex and vector transformations in rendering, the works. He also taught soft computing, which is the reason I know about natural and artificial neural nets, and genetic algorithms instead of just thinking "AI is a python script".The man was sharp as a tack and seriously experienced, one of those sage types with a long white beard where the length of it is proportional to programming wisdom, but somehow had no idea what git was. One must assume he was just keeping multiple copies of his data over his multi decade tenure. He also loved the Dreamcast. Said it was the first console that had spare polygons in its per frame budget. I miss that guy.
Uncensored alternatives to this shit?
>>107837622Depends what you need. If you just need source control, issues, and documentation publishing, run a Fossil instance. It'll let you keep all that under your direct control. It's up to you what you put in it. If it's stuff which governments want to censor, you'll have to deal with the consequences eventually, ngl.

Things like medicine, reading maps, archeology, quality control in factories etc.Sadly, that's kind of boring for your typical normie faggots and investors, so Altman and other scam artists are instead focusing on schizo babble about AGI and other bullshit.
