What could have been done better for these homeowners to defend themselves? Is the fake UPS delivery the go to home invasion method? It seems a bit sketch considering I know the UPS guys that run the route in my area, but I understand that's just anecdotal stuff.

>the rat poison shit again
Nearly any commercially available rat poison takes a long time to kick in in order for the rats not to realize what's killing them and a dog would need to eat a good amount compared to a rat. It's not just 'fido ate a blue cracker and now he's dead'.

>trying to revive fucking Q-ships by intentionally trying to hide combatants as cargo ships in 2026
Since when is intalling a bunch of radar domes and an obvious CIWS gun "hiding"? It's obviously not some retarded sneak attack ship, but a system to convert container ships into missile pickets. This would be the exact same thing as the US Navy strapping a containerized Aegis and Mk70 PDS onto their unmanned logistic ships. You know, the exact thing they have talked about doing and are actively working on?

Anyways, the program is obviously about making use of some of the 240,000 tons of civilian shipping that China has. Those container ships would have no purpose during a shooting war with the US since the war would slam the door on trade. Might as well hang a PLAN flag off of it and use it to disperse VLS cells across more platforms.

>inb4 more histrionic moaning about how this is totally different and obviously a warcrime deserving condemnation and punishment against China trying to stop the peaceful re-rise of the American nation.
There's always an element of hypocrisy in any international relationship, but the absolute brittleness you lot have about yourselves is just annoying.
>>
>>64693679
>he knows that the chinks cant scratch him militarily
Why would China want to? They don't have to sink the USN. The PLAN just has to be enough of a discouragement to whatever 7th Fleet has long enough to form a ground situation that is too expensive for Washington to change.

Pistol related but last question thread died a while ago. Are all 1911 .45 barrels interchangeable with all other 1911 models? I've got a Kimber and want a threaded barrel for it and I'm wondering if I should just get a Kimber barrel for it.

I have the 10/22 one, same buttstock hardware. I think you'd have to knock out the pin holding the hinge and butt on to the tube, pull that, cut the tube, re-attach, drill new pin hole, put pin in, and then move the stud the folding butt clips on thats on the wood part of the stock. That may be a bitch as it's set up like a reinforcing lug like the SKS has where it goes clean through the stock with another screw on the left as well. In fact, push that stud back any further and it's going to intersect with the magwell. Ain't gonna happen. Also the thing has a fucking 12.75" LOP why do you want it shorter? A 10/22 carbine has a 13.5" LOP! Just keep it half folded (stock folded, butt deployed) and keep a hand on the butt while walking if tight spaces is the issue.

Might as well save for DP12 ...

i see no point in bullpup rifles, i mean they go trough all that work, only to provide miniscule results, all because they keep recirculating AR derived slop design.

the only guns i have seen as a viable solution is either KRASA or the "grip repeating rifle", and not for its name sake.. only the bolt design.

anyhow, this is my take on what a bullpup should be.. it feeds from behind magazine, so you obtain 3 more inches of barrel, mix this with the bullpup setup and suddenly what should be a 10" barrel gun, can become a 20"..

>>
>>64690283
Their "problems" were them trying to get a port (which honestly I don't think anyone can really blame them for wanting), and Somalialand was supposed to be that ticket. And its not like Somalia is an actual threat to Ethiopia if they can't even deal with Puntland or Somaliland. The great threat to them from that direction is undoubtedly Al-Shabaab. Anyways, it seems like Somaliland got cold feet on the port deal once they got international pushback after it was announced and I was just wondering if he had any inside info to share on it.

What happened is that military/police contracts and limited budgets drive the firearms industry. Companies tried to innovate new ideas and came up with great guns, but the potential improvements over the existing designs weren't enough to justify the costs of buying all new equipment and more importantly, training everyone to use it. A great example is the paddle magazine release on handguns. It is objectively superior for everything outside of competitions and there are numerous cases of mags being accidentally dropped during a fight due to a button release. But no cops have actually died from it, so rather than waste millions of dollars on pistols and man hours spent retraining thousands of people to use a paddle, the button persists and the paddle dies.

But later when he needs help tracking Jake, he goes to her village to meet her and he offers to give her tribe guns in exchange for her help. She agrees and loves the guns so much she drags him to her tent to fuck and becomes his gf. It's the best sequence of the entire movie.

Imagine throwing a big dunk "You don't know about this topic" onto someone who leads with "I don't know about this topic". Obviously big ships have better seakeeping and so go faster in bad weather, but the efficiency of faster travel in water is way worse no matter how big you are. Cargo ships go slow enough that a USV with frogmen could get next to them - the same is not true of a warship making 35kt.

You're exaggerating. I never said it isn't viable for carry but it is sub optimal with many better options available. A more modern 9mm is cheaper to shoot, easier to shoot and has better performing ammunition available. If you want to carry a 380, it makes sense to carry something significantly smaller than a Bersa.

The Bersa is just a dated design in the same sense that a PPK is. If you like it anyway that's fine, but it isn't a gun I'd recommend to others unless that's what they want.

It's a manual safety that you can sweep down to decock if you want to. Doesn't negate anything, just gives you more options. Older models require you to thumb the hammer down to decock if you want to carry it DA, which is not ideal.
>Steel frame.
PT92s still have alloy frames, the slides are steel which is good because aluminum alloy Beretta slides like to crack around the slots for the locking lugs.
