As part of the modernization and consolidation of its combat fleet, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) successfully conducted the first launch of an MBDA Meteor air-to-air missile from a Gripen E fighter jet. The test, carried out on November 27th from Natal Air Base (BANT), represents a technological and operational milestone that confirms the full capability of the Brazilian Air Force's most advanced weapon system.

During the exercise, the missile was fired at a Mirach 100/5 aerial target, designed to replicate the flight profiles of fighter jets maneuvering at high speed and altitude. This challenging scenario allowed for the evaluation of the Meteor's accuracy and performance under realistic combat conditions, as well as testing the Gripen E's capabilities in long-range air-to-air missions.

Major Gregor Gaspar, of the First Air Defense Group (1st GDA) “Jaguar,” explained that the weapons employment profiles were carefully selected by a highly trained crew to maximize the exercise's performance. He emphasized that the launch not only represents a technical achievement but also consolidates the operational doctrine developed by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) for the use of long-range weapons, fully integrating the Gripen into modern air combat standards.

The integration of the Meteor missile onto the F-39E Gripen significantly expands Brazil's deterrent capabilities. This advancement places the Brazilian Air Force at a new level in air defense, reinforcing its sovereignty over its extensive airspace. With this combination, the country possesses a weapon capable of detecting, tracking, and neutralizing threats at a range of over 150 kilometers, strengthening its strategic position in the region.

brazil's brics membership is reflected on its diplomatic positions.
lula took a lot of heat for maintaining brazil's historical BRICS position.

military procurement goes through a different track. it will take some time to align it with the new realities of the world.

Does it bother you that the acronym BRIC was invented by an English banker? Not trying to agitate, genuinely curious.

I'm just curious what the BRICS countries are actually getting out of it.
>no military cooperation
>negligable economic cooperation
I guess having someone that will veto for you at the UN security council is nice to have, but even that is of dubious use since it doesn't protect you from betting wrecked by sanctions.
>>
>>64634268
"BRICS" is a new avatar of thirdworldism. It's nothing new. It was very much a thing in the 1970s, after the oil shocks. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_International_Economic_Order).
In fact, BRICS countries are trying to use this platform to leverage their interests globally. This is mostly reasonable. russia desperately tries to spin in into an anti-Western alliance, but it won't work, because that isn't what most BRICS countries want either.

I effectively do though when I shoot it regularly, but I don't count that towards hunting usage. I guess if you have a hunting gun you literally only use once per year then sure doesn't hurt, though even then with a quality setup the zero shouldn't shift to any significant degree at the kind of ranges and accuracy we're talking for hunting.

But sure, if you take an extra 3 bullets each year to double check and refamiliarize yourself then sure, no problem.
>>
>>64633031
do you shoot your hunting ammo all year? if you're using expensive nonlead hunting ammo it's likely going to have a different zero than leaded stuff
>>
>>64621568
Good. If you can afford to play with guns, you can afford a minor increase in ammo prices until the market adjusts.
>>
>>64622574
You just made that issue up. I've never heard about it before. Remember this ammo has been used since 2010, with no problems.

Laser hair removal from your anus would make for MUCH easier cleanup. Just try this experiment next time you wipe:

You will fail the sniff test because the paper doesn't clean. Add in poo clinging to your ass bush and you really do have a problem.

My logic for not speeding in littoral waters is that you're there to actually combat and neutralize the threat, not giving it the time and space to take advantage of the geography and slither back into safe havens, which littoral waters are aplenty, only because you don't have a well armoured *and* armed ship to actually engage

I will say, I recently got my new PTR back from warranty after a charging handle issue was repaired and I am very happy with it overall. Fit and finish is nice, parkerization is high quality, all G3 magazines fit well (cetmes work but theyre rough), and the rail on top is straight. The warranty work also says they test fired 100rd with no stoppages before shipping it, so take that as you will as an anecdote that not all PTRs are doodoo
