Out of curiosity could you load modern 9mm into an MP40 without it blowing up or jamming up in the case of HP/SP ammo? It'd be pretty neat to load modern self defense rounds into a WW2 submachine gun, imagine a future doctor breaking into your house at 3am only to catch a burst from a fucking MP40 to tge chest.

3-9x are a dime a dozen and would be great for .223. SWFA has some ultralights in the 2.5-10x range and they're good beginner scopes. alternatively you can look for a fixed power, although not many manufacturers make one anymore. I think leupold and swarovski still make a 6x
>>
How do I make sure the scope is on straight when mounting? Using a cantilever
>>
>>64752753
Levels, plumb bob, tall target test.
>>

> left hand twist barrel - it would unscrew from the breech eventually
>>
>>64752753
>mount rifle in vise
>check level with a bubble level
>put on scope
>hang a string with a weight on somewhere in front of the rifle so you can see it on the scope
>rotate scope until the reticle aligns with the string
Or alternatively just buy a scope leveling bubble kit from Aliexpress for $5

I just got a high paying job and in celebration I'm going to update my arsenal. Pls give input on my choices for these roles and let me know if there's something better:

>Ruger SFAR as main DMR rifle, open to other short receiver .308 ARs or a .308 bullpup
>M&P9 or 10mm Witness as handgun, I do live in grizzly country and this will be my primary HD/clearing gun
>Kel Tec RDB as building clearing/HD rifle
>KSG as HD shotgun
>Mossberg Aftershock as drone gun to be worn on a scabbard, can also double as bear gun with slugs
>300WM rifle as sniper (undecided but either a cheapo Savage bolty or go all in and get a Desert Tech SRS for $6k)

Already have my carry guns set and most of the common rifles for range funs but want specific ones that best fill those roles. What are your go-to's?

The MWS is a heavy gun but it's more than worth it for the accuracy and reliability imo

My sister-in-law has an RDB-C and it's a fun little gun. The C and S models are sleek and easy to carry, real handy innawoods. She likes it because it's easy to hide and her parents are furiously antigun but I'm guessing you're not living at home with mommy and daddy. Triggers good, the gun's surprisingly reliable and downward ejection is nice.
On the other hand, it feels like a cheap plastic dollar-store toy to hold, one of the screws backed itself and disappeared into the grass (might wanna loctite em all) and the thin barrel is very temperature sensitive.

I love my AUG though. It's a joy to shoot, it's more accurate and way more robust. It's a gun I'd actually be happy to rely on in a shooting.
The stock trigger is a gritty and mushy but not to the extent that it ever impeded my ability to shoot. I've got the Ratworx 2020 sear in it now and that's made the trigger a lot crisper.

I mean it's 6 rifles, not exactly a collection. Currently it's just AK, G3, and AR15 which is for work. But those two first choices are becoming less and less viable. AKs are not as common as they used to be and it's a fucking nightmare to clear with the G3. It's difficult to mount stuff to them too, the G3 currently doesn't have a non-janky way to mount a light. Can't blame a guy for wanting to modernize and have short guns that actually work with my tactics.

How are they still in business? shotgun sales are in the shitter and even if they do sell someone a shotgun, how many shotguns do people buy in their life time?
>but they sell .22s
are you really going to buy a mossberg .22 over a 10/22?
>the patriot
are you going to buy a mossberg patriot over a ruger or savage at basically the same price point?
>handguns
they sell handguns? have you ever seen someone with a mossberg handgun?
Henry's another one. Are there really that many people buying lever actions and single shot break actions? It's even worse than car companies because guns are cheaper than cars and .22s and hunting guns last basically forever

The very same pic you posted shows that more shotguns were manufactured than pistols. Mossberg exports a fuck ton of shotguns to countries that don't allow their citizens to own rifles. Furthermore, we import very few shotguns (picrel from your same link), so if we want a shotgun, it will very likely have come from the US, Canada, Italy, or Turkey.

I've been reading up on these fascinating weapons and couldn't help developing a curiosity about them.

1, Are incendiary weapons actually useful or it's just fuck you collateral damage? We no longer use highly flammable wood for anything important anymore.
2, Do they work like in my tacticool games of Counter Strike or are they different? I mean, I'm sure they are not supposed to fizzle out after 7 seconds...
3, What's the better fuel for Molotovs, alcohol, ethanol, gasoline, diesel or a mix of them? All of these are treated equal but I'm sure each has their own characteristics like flash point, so I'm wondering if there is a best overall recipe.
4, What situations can you imagine incendiary weapons being useful in a modern battlefield? Burning down entire forests I can understand, but why risk using them in CQC?

It's fun stuff. Imagine the soap parties :DD Here's a recipe from a usenet group from 1999.

>How to make napalm

>Basic recipe:

>Aluminum soap
>Gasoline

>Put gasoline in a container and add aluminum soap until the consistency resembles kissel. Voila.

>As additional seasonings, you can use, for example, adhesion promoting substances such as polystyrene or substances that increase the combustion temperature such as phosphorus and its derivatives.

>(Obligatory note: It goes without saying that the aforementioned playing around with highly flammable and toxic chemicals is extremely dangerous. Why don’t all countries just acquire nuclear weapons? If sufficient numbers of countries take this step then all threats of sanctions from non-compliance lose their significance. Israel already set the precedent by showing how nuclear weapons inspections and the sanctions tied to them have no meaning.

First one should build a large stockpile of nerve agents and genetically modified biological weapons so that deterrence remains in effect while the bombs are being built. Olympic pools of VX being pumped to cheap drones with spray tanks would be enough since the poison will remain in the terrain as microscopic droplets for months thus neutralizing enemy population centers even if the vast majority of launches are intercepted.

>just make bioweapons in the facilities specifically made for prevention and defense, annually audited by UN and other NGOs. Just do what took soviets a decade and half to ramp up industrial scale production of aerosols.

Doesnt work like that, despite what Russians told you about ukrainian biolabs, the labs are highly specialized to work with small samples, and the moment you tried to run your own bioweapon program in the year 2025 in the middle of the fucking EU, all, and by that I mean all at least a bit sensible specialists would immediately snitch on you. AND THAT IS A GOOD THING. Soviets had ton of land, closed cities, cold war level of conspiracy, and still had some major fuckups.

Anyway what should they make? Ebola kills faster than spreads, strategically sensible is only some more disruptive coof, but that can easily backfire. What would be interesting is killing a nation by some shit like prions by trafficking it in food, but thats why there are so many checks around food imports (unless someone makes their whole health policy around eating raw meat).

So by far the most succesfull strategy is to just make fent and sell it fresh out of harbor.

About that dimethylmercury, I was thinking, how hard could it be to get a bunch of great men, and start a good ol fashioned startup, disrupting indian mercury refining market (and safety standards), specializing at dimethylmercury synthesis and wastewater treatment, in the beatufilly scenic town of Devprayag, sitting on the source of Ganges. There is no way, no possible way, that the comically large dimethylmercury storage tanks would leak into the river. Never.

Basically.

In peacetime, the military needs to be warehoused.
You have to take them out now and then and oil the troops and polish the grenades or whatever, to keep them fresh and ready for use but what else are they for in peacetime?

Republicans have always wanted a powerful military that is never used, it's their end goal.

Huys, i want to FRT my jakl a3 300blk bullpup kit. Pretty sure I figured out how I can do it but it requires a g$ sd3g tigger. I am already working on 2 other frt setups. Do i say fuck it and spend the money or do I be a responsible adult and wait for another time
>>
Implying it works with the a3, would be cool. not sure how you're going to do that since it seems like you have to use their safety?
>>
So their safety is the one at the forward trigger, so there are 2 triggers and there can be 2 safeties. The way the conversion kit I have is there is a drop in single stage drop in trigger in the back that the linkage interfaces. i would need to swap that out with a similar signal stage 3-3.5 lbs flat face trigger that could be used for a super safety, in other words the SD3G. While I didnt install the second safety, you can still I stall a safety in the back of you wanted to have 2 safeties and remove the covers over the location to access it I'm 99% I could make it work
