Just bought this little bastard for 140$ but i dont know how i should sharpen my straight razors with it. Should i have the wheel turning towards the edge or towards the spine? Should i just try to do modified x strokes?

So im hoping i can speed up the process with my rotating wheel whetstone. I just ordered 3 new gold dollars from alixprs for like 10$ so im hoping they will be a good option for learning on, but im still not sure if i should just try to replicate the standard flat whetstone process on my rotating whetstone or if i need to be doing something completely different.

Im thinking if i swap out the 200grit wheel whetstone that comes with the product and swap in a 3000grit wheel whetstone, i can do the heavy lifting setting the bevel more quickly and then try finishing carefully on my 8000 and 12000 flat whetstones.
