>>64642893Another possibility in the slightly longer term is that peace results in the world economy doing better, which increases demand for oil, but production might not quite keep up straight away.

Now that the dust has settled... Its time to apologize. Join me in an apology for a pistol was betrayed by its country despite its years of service.. A perfect embodiment of the GWOT era. Dear Beretta, we regret replacing you with cheap malfunctioning trash. Dear Beretta, we apologize for feeding you with substandard magazines which caused failure to feed issues. Dear Beretta, we regret mocking your lack of modularity despite 99% of troops never actually putting modular crap on their service pistol. Dear Beretta, we apologize for saying you were too big for womens hands, we realize now that women should never have been in the military or even the workplace. Dear Beretta, the weight of our transgressions stays our /k/ feet. We do not wish to be left behind. Amen.To all men listening now, this week, head to your local sports and outdoor and purchase a Beretta M92 variant. Clean it, train with it, learn its functions and maintenance as your own, it will take care of you as well. But do not apologize, as we have all apologized in solidarity here today. Comment too long. None of the other 10 year old acquisitions had catastrophic failure rates coming even close to those piles of shit, no matter how many times the action had been cycled, or ammunition type. I can’t speak to other Beretta pistol models, but I can say with absolute certainty the NATO spec M9 is an expensive piece of shit.
Do attack helicopters still have a place on the modern battlefield?
>>64641985I'm paraphrasing a bit but one of the pilots interviewed about the US Army reducing pilot intake said something to the effect of>Why are we trying to become the Ukrainian Army?>We're the US Army, and we're quite good at it.People seem to be seeing 'wow, drones are enough to let anyone stop mighty Russia' and not 'wow, drones are fucking scary in a degraded operational environment between two forces stretched thin and lacking enough of their preferred tools'.I also don't think it helps that 'drone' as a term has some novelty to it. You're seeing what we would've called cruise missiles 20 years ago being called drones. Most of these things are being used as glorified TV-guided munitions.Everyone loves a disruptor and a tech solution, even if it's not fundamentally a new threat vector at all.

I've got a serious strategy to beat China in WW3. Let's say we're trying to invade Shanghai: we'll humidify the fuck out of Shanghai's atmosphere with milk particles. Chinese people by-and-large are lactose intolerant, so all the Chinese soldiers will be forced to surrender due to shitting their pants or experiencing a tummy ache; meanwhile, the milk in the atmosphere will enhance the combat capabilities of western soldiers. It doesn't violate the Geneva Conventions because milk is technically not a chemical weapon, and it'd be humane too since it doesn't even cause any permanent injuries. We'll haul over all kinds of equipment and boatloads of milk to achieve it, and we could even "poison" Shanghai's water supply with milk, leaving the Chinese with zero ability to fight. There'd probably be mass desertions too since PLA soldiers would just ditch the trenches to get away from the smell of shit.I don't know if chemical weapons are within the scope of /k/, but what do you guys think? Should I try and lobby this idea to a think tank?

>>64641310>Thanks Anon, appreciate the insight and suggestions. The Interwar years are of particular interest to me so I'll def be checking those out.https://findingaids.hagley.org/repositories/3/resources/980Francis Bannerman Son was a major purveyor of military goods to sportsmen and collectors in New York City over three generations. The Francis Bannerman Son records demonstrate the operation of a small family business and a lack of formal structure. They document Bannerman's purchase of military goods from state and federal arsenals and their resale to individuals, with other regular purchases of arms and military antiques made on buying trips to Europe. The bulk of the collection consists of over 143 bound volumes of order books and outbound letters, and correspondence of incoming letters containing customer orders and inquiries. This collection would be useful to researchers interested in the resale costs and designs of military goods, especially arms and uniforms, as well as family-run small business performance and operations.

Anyway they found a bunch of dynamite and a live M26 or M67 frag grenade in his basement. Had to call in the EOD from team Tucson. Anyway point of the story is there’s a lot more shit like that lying around then most people thinks. >>64641502 #>The French method involved mixing manure, ashes, straw and human urine, fermented for a year, then filtered through ashes and straw. You can make saltpeter and charcoal, sulfur needs to be mined though.
>>64630041For Europeans and others with gnarly gun control, you have my sympathies. For my fellow Americans, any discussion about "le diy ammo" is larp fantasy because the immediately apparent solution is to buy 5000 rounds of 22lr for the cost of a couple shifts at mcdonalds and cache them across your area/state/city. Heck, even stash a bunch of 9mm and 5.56, you can even cache entire guns extremely easily.

What I'm hearing is that the Iranians wanted Harpy at home, but were incapable of copying the electronics, so they built something that looked the same and bragged about how implessive their engineering is. You know, the same thing they did with the RQ-170.>Is the American Shasneed a copy of captured Shasneeds from Ukraine? The American Shasneed in your picture is a target drone designed to replicate the performance of captured Shasneeds from Ukraine, in a sense, yes it is.
