It's nice to see a nuanced take about the troubles, especially from an American. Like you say the whole thing is fucked and the country is ran by people who are old enough to have deeply embedded past grudges or have familial ties to ex-gunmen.

That being said it's slowly getting less shit. If you ever do get a chance to travel the Island, do try to give the north a visit, especially the north coast.
>>

Yeah British vehicles and their weapons as a whole are an acquired taste, same with their food desu
>>
>>65037987
I think the brits are very good at a sort of "we built this thing to fucking kill you we don't care if you laugh at it before you die" aesthetic. Although, given that I'm an american maybe I could be mistaken and a brutal architecture meant to grind lives to dust is just what they consider beautiful, which does kind of track.

>>65045564
Eh, being part Welsh I might view it differently but I don't necessarily consider Sinn Fein support to = IRA support even if Sinn Fein did support the IRA. I also view it as somewhat understandable in the context of RUC violence against the Catholics pre-Troubles (which was part of the reason the Troubles started).

A lot of people who vote Plaid Cymru don't necessarily want an independent Wales, certainly barely any supported that one Welsh knock off IRA (I forget its name), but they do want things like Welsh language, separation of powers, Welsh cultural focus etc.

Agreed on the military tactics being moronic, this is why I am critical of all the groups involved in the Troubles, they did a fantastic job of killing random people who in many cases were either moderates or on their side. I think there is one example where the UVF gunned down a pub because they saw a glimpse of the Irish rugby(?) team on TV. Violent morons with heavy weapons was never a good thing for Ireland on any side.

>>65045618
Yeah, plus imagine the current Irish military trying to police the "loyalists". It'd be a complete shitshow and probably end up with IRA remnants re-arming and going at it (and inevitably British re-deployment to try and help the Irish who would fail).

>>65046088
Doesn't really matter, every European nation has dozens of different ethnic groups (no I don't mean recent arrivals), Poland has Kashubs for example, Romania has Hungarian minorities, the list could go on and on.

Gerald Bull built big guns for anyone with a wallet, he was working for the South Africans (big Israeli allies at the time) for years.

The stock on this M1903 I got for $6 at an auction. Buttplate was a bit rusty but other than dirt and dried cosmoline the stock was perfectly fine. It had probably been sitting in a basement for 60 years; the rifle it was originally on was long gone.

I like stories like this. I bought this rifle in a sporter stock at an auction for like $175, then bought the stock about an hour later for $25. So this was an easy and cheap restoration. I have 2 Eddystone 1917s that all in all I’m into for about $350 total. But that’s a story for another day.

Physically, nothing is stopping Iran from setting up a toll and they've been doing it in the short term as a form of leverage.
Economically and diplomatically, it's not sustainable. It just triggers economic retaliation and damages their own trade.
>>
>>65047310
Given that now French ships are passing through freely, collecting a toll isn't feasible. It's pure thirdie fantasy.

Why did older, obsolete SAM systems outperform the supposedly high-end ones? Both the THAAD and the S-400 have been major disappointments.
>>

This might be a self a report, but I'm bringing you with me you faggot.

The whole point of IADS is each system is optimized for certain targets, THAAD and the S-400 are both anti-ballistic missile systems that get dunked on by crop dusters throwing VOGs out the window.

The issue right now is there isn't any small drone optimized systems leaving a capability gap.

Now that Netanyahu has withdrawn from NATO, they can finally defeat the next enemy standing in the way of Greater Israel. But do they actually have a chance 1v1?

I haven't been impressed by the IDF's recent performance and the Turkish armed forces are large and fairly well-equipped.

Jews run almost all the pro-immigration NGOs in Europe and America, and were instrumental in advocating for pro-immigration legislation like Hart-Cellar. On pic related. Current scope is airsoft and idk where that ends and gun begins. The rings are 1 screw per side and direct thread into the rail which screws into the top receiver 1 in the back 2 in the front.
I think the rings and rail are original, should I run 1 screw rings on a 30-06? My 30-30 runs 2 screw rings. Original scope was a 3-9 Nikon that got lost along the way

This. If you want to actually be critical about it, that gun looks like crap. The wood has no figure at all. The finish is shit. The forend doesn't match the stock. Extruded rings are crappy. The scope is too. But that nitpicking doesn't matter. I'm sure it kills bambi dead just fine. It has charm. It's like an old pickup truck that has some wear and tear, maybe a replaced door whose paint doesn't quite match. It's a gun that can tell stories, something that people took hunting for years, not some safe queen or larpstick dressed up for social media attention.

Doesn't seem like Iran is in the fight at all, if there was anything close to parity one would at least expect the Iranians to have successfully taken out some Israeli leadership, or destroyed some American target of strategic significance like a carrier or airbase or something. If China and Russia are providing help it's not exactly delivering the goods.
>>
>>65048310
> Doesn't seem like Iran is in the fight at all
Please dont make me laugh, they are still popping off 40-60 missiles per day plus a hundred or more drones. Last week they destroyed an E-3 AWACS and shot down at least 3 air force planes.

> destroyed some American target of strategic significance like a carrier or airbase or something
NSA Bahrain is completely destroyed, all the radar and electronics equipment and the warhouses storing them are smouldering rubble and all personel evacuated. If you dont think a major fleet support base is strategic then I dont know what to tell you. THAAD radars are strategic and multiple of them have been destroyed or rendered inoperable as well.

Bioweapons come back to bite you in the ass. Look at what happened when Trump had the CIA release COVID-19 in the Wuhan wet market. 50,000 Chinese died compared to 1.2 million Americans.

Chemical weapons are too easy and turn a dick measuring contest into a war of complete depopulation. By using a weapon of complete extermination you're asking to be exterminated. Very few conflicts in history have ended with the complete extermination of the losing population, and most of those were due to an insult. Use of chemical weapons is a grave insult.

as somebody pointed out already, you're retarded, but nobody has ever achieved this. note; CONFLICT. the closest were the bongs wiping out a ethnogroup in Tasmania through accidential smallpox, it wasn't planned or designed. It just happened. Which is why people campaign for muh reparations etc. In terms of a WAR the closest was the Paraguayan War where only a small % of the population was left. Very few people have ever wanted to wipe out the other side because you want to make them work as slaves so you don't have to.

Just spent the last day finally finger fucking one of these. From an engineering perspective it is cracked.
>creative, unique striker system due to space limitations. For instance, the disconnector is actuated by a cut in the slide
>Managed to make it locked breech and have all of the standard safeties you'd expect from a striker fired gun
>The size cannot be articulated until able you hold it in hand. It makes micro-9's like the 43x and shield plus feel like full sized steel frame wonder-9s when held side by side. It's smaller than a Glock 42 for fucks sake
>full firing grip which still doesn't make any sense to my brain. They cut the slide height down so much that overall height is that of a two-finger gun, but you can build a full grip on it. Bore axis is as low as those $5k meme guns tier
>these are honorable mentions but good sights, good slide serrations, good grip texture, adequate trigger and $350 new goes a long way.
Big props to the design team. A pocket gun that simultaneously has 13 rounds of .380 and a full-sized grip is literally the most retardedly insane thing I can't emphasize that enough. If they could make one in .32 with like 13 rounds flush it would probably be the greatest firearm made this century.

Unfortunately, it has Smith & Wesson levels of QC.
