Pretty. But not very tactically relevant though? Unless the US intends to fight an enemy in Oregon flatlands.

Are you saying it's wrong to defend Woodland? Woodland doesn't need defending. It's obviously good. For its purpose, used in woodlands or jungles. Places with trees and grass. Because then you had a desert uniform for deserts. And parkas, white for snow and that green grid one to defeat night-vision. UCP is criticised because it was UNIVERSAL. One pattern to do all environments. But, failed to really do any. Woodland did what it was supposed to do.
>>
>>65019630
I realize this is supposed to be dunking on UCP, but I'm too busy mourning the death of unique national camos for the Multiscam meta. I realize war is practicality first, soul second, but that doesn't mean I can't be upset about it.

It quite clearly is shit camo in the environment in that photo, which has trees and grass.
People who defend woodland do not understand how military camouflage works, or what environments are like outside their parents backyard.

How would a modern day Vietnam War look like?

Given that Vietnam is vaguely Western aligned or at least anti-Sino aggression, for which the Western purposes may find utility, this meme is vaguely Western adjacent and i hereby

What do you think of the idea of switching to bullpup rifles? I hope Vietnam one day standardizes to bull pup rifles given that they rely on under-barrel grenade launchers.

Bull pup rifle shifts a portion of the weight near the user. This makes the rifle less heavy as there's less torque acting on the user. Simply put:

Torque = distance (at a pivot) * Force

You can feel the difference in torque when you straighten your arm out and hold a bag. Even though the bag is the same weight, holding it with your hand compared to with your shoulder feels different due to torque.

Given that the traditional rifle is front heavy, attaching an under-barrel grenade launcher adds more to this effect and makes the rifle feel much heavier.

A bull pup reliefs this issue by balancing the weight. The weight of the under-barrel grenade launcher is mitigated by the weight distribution of a bull pup rifle.

can't say for the Army, but the bullpup Tavor already got kicked down to militiamen
>previously, only Marine Infantry (Hải quân đánh bộ) was equipped with the Tavor anyway

personally i see a bullpup rifle as a niché weapon with difficulties in mass training
>>
>>65034441
forgot to say if a grunt started out training with an AK (which is usually the case), then he would have difficulties adjusting to a bullpup

if he started training with a bullpup (like the militia men in photo) then its fair game
>>
>>65034441
on a 2nd thought, maybe the Tavors in pic are just for show
the other militia men are equipped with riot control gears, and there are only 2 guns in the whole photo

A rifle with a 30 round mag is pretty useless, a belt feed with as much ammo as you can fit on is great so long as the platform can handle the recoil.

I wonder if there's a way to calculate how many people get killed/injured by the random bits of ordnance fucked into the air by celebrating Arabs
>>
>>65028000
Well, somewhat but not entirely. A lot of it is also for guerrilla warfare, take Libya for an example. They used technicals not due to stupidity, but because they had no heavy military equipment until much later in the revolution against Qaddafi.
They are an exceptional way to provide fire support for infantry if you have no actual heavy military vehicles.
>>
>>65028000
Fortifications were the reason why 2010s technicals became so fucking wild. Before in prior decades, where thirdie fighting was mainly between militias outmaneuvering each other, it was enough to strap a 50cal or a recoilless rifle to your pickup truck. But in the Arab Spring wars of 2011-16, fighting over strongpoints in cities led to ever more heavier weapons mounted on whatever fuckin moves. AA guns became the new minimum for hiluxes, while dumptrucks, tractors, flatbeds, and bigrigs got dragooned as rocket launchers and SPGs.

ITT talk about suppressors, launchers, SBRs, etc.

Just got an MCX and shot it with my Surefire RC2. It was a miserable experience.

Anyone have any experience with the Huxwrx Flow 556k? Is it really as loud as people say? Does it hold up with full-auto/FRT fire?

Also for those with launchers, what rounds would you recommend printing for affordable 40mm?

Ive heard conflicting info about what to put in the description under line item for a SBR
Ive heard you need to put what will be engraved into the receiver, a description on what you plan to do e.g. "once approved i will purchase and assemble etc", or I can leave it blank

What has everybody else done?
>>
I didn't want to engrave my name as an individual manufacturer on a Form 1, so I asked a friend of mine who is a SOT to register my AP5 as a SBR on a Form 2, then engrave his FFL name on it and transfer to me on a Form 4. Super easy and the Form 4 was approved in 4 days.

On a side note, the description box is absolutely and verifiably retarded when you do silencers. They want several sentences worth of gay information but limit you to like 140 characters.
>>
>>65034643
what kind of silencers have you made? I have a lathe and would like to make a few but don't know where to start design wise are there machining blueprints online? Is it even legal to share prints online?

We're undeniably in the age of the drone, modern militaries have very little cost effective counters to small mass produced drones, but that wont last, better detection and interception technology like interceptor drones, lazars, specialized ammunition, better EW are being developed and slowly rolled out, the Ukraine war will be viewed like how we view world war one, a strange inflection point of bad and outdated strategy meeting new more powerful weapons. the drone will eventually be just another tool in the arsenal instead of a wonder weapon,

Genuine question.
How is the 3x optic in your opinion?

I'm looking at possibly getting a single optic carry handle for mine, but I hear that it's kind of dated. I want the aesthetic for sure, but at the same time, I'd like it to be practical as it will be my default 5.56 rifle.

>The Mosquito wasn't an air superiority fighter
because it wasn't as good as the single-engine alternatives available; to whit, it lacked manoeuvrability althought it had sufficient speed
as I said, that's the problem with WW2-era twin props, the only thing they really provided was range and payload

even so, in theory the Mosquito could have been a good fighter so long as one strictly used it for zoom and boom tactics only
>>
>>65034497
It fucking rocked as a night fighter, hard enough they were just spawncamping German airfields before long. That could be more attributed towards British technical superiority, admittedly.

Half the internet says this is a totally acceptable alternative to a real proper registered and tax stamp'd NFA item. The other half says this is playing with fire and you're a real cowboy if you mess with this shit and one day everyone is going to wake up a felon. Both groups say it's the other side that's being irrational not to mention clearly a nogunz ESL thirdie.

Personally I think some people who know more than all of us combined are stockpiling 16" uppers counting down the moment when they can sell them for 10x what they're worth because everyone is panicking. But I digress. Perhaps we can meet in the middle and call it a potential misdemeanor that exists in a quantum superposition of felon and law abiding citizen?
