Hypothetically, if the Iron Age came sooner and the Bronze Age was dramatically shorter (or didn't happen at all), would swords be more prominent on the battlefield? Or were polearms just inevitable?
(long) swords were only popular when armor was rare due to rarity of the most produced metal, once the metal production increased and armor plate/mails became widespread people used shorter swords as side arm. That happened at least twice, during the late Bronze age and medieval times.
>>64634219Swords were prominent. Massed longspears just works very well.

>>64628525 (OP)>>Because armed people will NOT willingly >>load themsleves into railroad boxcars,Quickfix.I remember it was. In Switzerland, a gang of armed revolutionaries, along with Vladimir Ulyanov-Lenine, willingly loaded themselves into railroad boxcars, their guy sealed the boxcars, they crossed the interstate border, got out of boxcars and made a revolution, if I'm not mistaken, the Great October Revolution (November 7-8, 1917)I'm not calling for a revolution or a conquest, I just recollected that historic event.

They probably just wanted dates. Also, the Incas and Aztecs could have saved a lot of grief by just converting to Catholicism. They were pretty dumb.
As part of the modernization and consolidation of its combat fleet, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) successfully conducted the first launch of an MBDA Meteor air-to-air missile from a Gripen E fighter jet. The test, carried out on November 27th from Natal Air Base (BANT), represents a technological and operational milestone that confirms the full capability of the Brazilian Air Force's most advanced weapon system.During the exercise, the missile was fired at a Mirach 100/5 aerial target, designed to replicate the flight profiles of fighter jets maneuvering at high speed and altitude. This challenging scenario allowed for the evaluation of the Meteor's accuracy and performance under realistic combat conditions, as well as testing the Gripen E's capabilities in long-range air-to-air missions.Major Gregor Gaspar, of the First Air Defense Group (1st GDA) “Jaguar,” explained that the weapons employment profiles were carefully selected by a highly trained crew to maximize the exercise's performance. He emphasized that the launch not only represents a technical achievement but also consolidates the operational doctrine developed by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) for the use of long-range weapons, fully integrating the Gripen into modern air combat standards. The integration of the Meteor missile onto the F-39E Gripen significantly expands Brazil's deterrent capabilities. This advancement places the Brazilian Air Force at a new level in air defense, reinforcing its sovereignty over its extensive airspace. With this combination, the country possesses a weapon capable of detecting, tracking, and neutralizing threats at a range of over 150 kilometers, strengthening its strategic position in the region.

>>64634268"BRICS" is a new avatar of thirdworldism. It's nothing new. It was very much a thing in the 1970s, after the oil shocks. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_International_Economic_Order).In fact, BRICS countries are trying to use this platform to leverage their interests globally. This is mostly reasonable. russia desperately tries to spin in into an anti-Western alliance, but it won't work, because that isn't what most BRICS countries want either.

>>64633008I effectively do though when I shoot it regularly, but I don't count that towards hunting usage. I guess if you have a hunting gun you literally only use once per year then sure doesn't hurt, though even then with a quality setup the zero shouldn't shift to any significant degree at the kind of ranges and accuracy we're talking for hunting. But sure, if you take an extra 3 bullets each year to double check and refamiliarize yourself then sure, no problem.
>>64633031do you shoot your hunting ammo all year? if you're using expensive nonlead hunting ammo it's likely going to have a different zero than leaded stuff
